Honestly I think somebody else would have done a better job. At least in looking like Harvey Quinn. Like for example Margot Robbie. The looks do matter in a super hero movie. But the Joker is more of franchise that works on a conceptual level than the visual level. The strength of the first lay in its plot and not the looks of the character or the visuals. Definitely anticipated.

But for a lead actress you need a combination of looks and appearance as well as dramatic skills. Especially when you playing a character which is popular and with very distinct traits as Harley Quinn. There are reasons why several good actresses like have not been cast in lead roles because they did not have the looks. And there are reasons why several extremely good looking actresses have not found much work because they lacked the acting skills. I am not saying you expect Oscar worthy performance from Gaga but anybody who saw House of Gucci would agree that she is not the best of actresses. I really do not think Gaga has the combination of the looks and acting required for a challenging role like Harley Quinn. I doubt if many actresses have that combination. I mean she got the accent right in House of Gucci but did she get the acting right. Was she ultimately able to make an impression with her acting ? How would you compare her acting in the movie with the 4 good actors like Jeremy Iron. Al Pacino and Adam Driver and Jared Leto. They were far better. To bring a non-actor who is a pop artist with only 1 movie in her resume and cast her in such an important role seems a very courageous move to me.

I really don't think it's the end of the movie (maybe i'm wrong). I think it's when she stars to fall in love with Arthur. In all the shots we have seen, she has different clothes and styles. I think, with this outfit, she wants to be seductive. There is a clash between the shots where she's in "civil" and she's wearing a hat. I really interpret her little dance move as a way to express hey joy to fall in love and to be loved. The shots where she's in "Harley Form' are way after this shot for me. However, i can't wait so see it too
