Maybe some tragedy caused her to drink or something, and maybe she's worked up in that state. My sister was like this when she lossy a child and needed to go into rehab for drinking.

back at my old store, the nights were open and had a bar nearby. because of the crazy as fuck drunk and homeless people, the store ended up hiring a security guard to put down such issues. more places should follow that precedent, it saved so many headaches especially on the busy nights.
