Not at all. I have zero legal experience, nor do I need any to determine the case would be thrown out. You have to leave the store to steal the items. In addition, they unlawfully detained them, and most importantly, didn't read them their Miranda rights. It seems the police either know they have compromised the case and do this for views, or they are too stupid to know they have compromised the case.
