Ela A. G. I think Mary I is little reserved like her mother and Elizabeth is little short tempered like her mother. But they are truely Henry VIII's daughter. They are really strong woman and proved themselves as a good leader. On Mary's part, I will say that she had been gone through a series of abuses and deprivation for a long time. And abuse is never normal and that turned her into Bloody Mary. Mary was old enough to understand what is going on. It left an everlasting impression on her. On the otherhand, Elizabeth was too young to understand and was also declared illegitimate. She was messed up in her life if I consider the movie Elizabeth (1998). She reluctantly gave up the throne to Queen Mary Stuart's son King James I. She intentionally ended the Tudor Dynasty after giving a golden age.

I think you were not exactly right. Elizabeth seemed convinced by James Stuart, but she did not make him her heir to England and Ireland, it was after her death then her subjects proceed to claim James their King.

Farheena Sharmin I disagree, Elizabeth was in more peril because she was so young. She had to learn and grow up very fast. She was tried and almost imprisoned and killed by both her brother Edward when she was 14 and later Mary in her early 20's. That is very traumatic. I don't think Mary's life was ever in that kind of peril except if course when her astute hapless cousin Jane Grey ascended the throne for 9 days...lol
