Y'know, I finished two playthroughs, infiltrated the House of Hope twice, and this is the first time I encountered this dialogue during my third complete playthrough. Basically you don't learn about Raphael's deal in Sharess' Caress, but you infiltrate the House of Hope. Look at Lae's smile and how hopeful she looks when she found the hammer!
