Agreed Rahkim. No one is saying he isn't sincere. He is doing the best with what he has got and this is commendable. What gets me is that too many kids are taking this guy as being the end all to progress. Therefore, it is not so much the kids that I get exasperated with, but it is the impact this guy has on kids and his being unaware of it. He is an example. He should know this. He should read and understand what he talks about if he is going to go public with it. This is my beef.

I do agree that we shouldn't have too many leaders. It's a basic fact, everyone's idealistic, and almost all of our presidents and dictators lead us through hell with their ephemeral or chimerical ambitions. What we should do instead is help the people be their OWN leaders. Only in numbers can we ever achieve something, and it has been proven in marches and boycotts through out history.

I got love for DP's enthusiasm and their passion, I truly do admire it. However, I personally think that their rhetoric is redundant and delusional. We are not under violent oppression as a whole here in America, we are free. We do not live in a police state in the true sense of a military governement with troops at every intersection checking our passports.

If we look at his arguments using a comparative model we have to say what he says is very insightful. I also believe that Dead Prez are a very positive group who have influenced many youth across the world including me. However as a people we must come away from certain frameworks that where pirated from us in the first place such as Communism/Socialism (comming from communialism). He really promotes change from the inside if the only people he is appealing to are people from the ghetto? How? How many rallies has he formed? How many articles has he written? How many school talks has he done? How many homeless shelters do you think he works at on weekends? Anyone with any kind of real knowledge of social change looks at this guy and laughs. Granted he may be a good artist but activist/revolutionary he is not. Look up Huey Newton, or Medgar Evers for real activism.
