Many of you have seen videos about my Grandmother's House, but did you know that Lago Vista was actually their first home on the island? Tune in as I walk you around the gardens of this magical victorian!

I didn't realize your family has owned that charming home for so many years! The last time I was on the island I took loads of photos of those hollyhocks and any others I saw! In the future, I will stop and look more closely at all the types of plants in the gardens I pass by on my walks. What a delight to see all the beauty you've created. Thank you!

This takes me back to 1981, when I spent the summer working as a maid at the Hotel Iroquois. I walked by Lago Vista every day coming & going from Lakewood, where many of the summer staff lived. It was such a fun summer. And, your grandmother sure knows a thing or two about running a beautiful hotel!

I have very fond memories of hollyhocks growing near my home in Michigan during my childhood. I was always curious about the plants in our neighborhood and my own yard. My stepfather grew up in New England and absolutely LOVED roses. Those he raised back then were such beauties! Thank You for sharing SO much about your family Jack. When I think back to my feelings when I visited Mackinaw I felt it was truly magical. Now I have a deeper understanding of those who played a part in creating and maintaining that wonderful magic. You have followed their example in positively STELLAR fashion, I LOVE following your vlogs. Keep on keepin on, and thank you once again 😊

Jack, always a great appreciation for how you and your team always compliment existing structures/cottages and never over-power anything by size and/or number of plants. Your understanding and respect for what 'has been' allows each project to continue its story. Awesome job, Jack!

What a charming garden! Jack I love what you and your team did with the beds under the trees and the beach rock mulch for the drainage area. A visit to Mackinac Island is on my bucket list and to walk by your Grandparents home and Lago Vista will be on my list of things to do when I go! I live in zone 9 so I can only dream of a garden like these, but you do inspire me to garden and learn how I can have my own garden space.

Oh my gosh I love love your videos, and your gardening aesthetic but it’s so frustrating that often when you are talking about some aspect of the plants or garden that your videographer focuses on the house or you or some other scene! Like the bonsaid bed you mention, but we didn’t get a closeup! Would love more focus on the plantings and beds themselves!
