Lake District 10 mile circular hike around Derwent Water.

9 ай бұрынThe easiest 10 mile Lake District walk I've ever done, the full circular walk around Derwent Water. As I had a bad back there was no chance I could go camping, however I had this trip planned anyway, so luck was on my side. Starting off in Keswick we ambled along and quickly found ourselves in the beautiful open countryside of the Lake District, with just over 200m of elevation across the whole walk we just ambled along nicely taking all the beautiful views in. there was also a fire and a flood along the way too.

Hi Paul. Walla Crag gang here. I did this walk with my daughter ( my lad was abroad) on what was one of the hottest days this year. I was absolutely cream crackered by the time we finished. Much to her amusement . 😆. It's a lovely walk though and your video brought back the memories. I was supposed to be up there for a solo jaunt this weekend but the starter motor failed on the van. Keep on keeping on and hopefully your back will be better soon. 👍🏻👍🏻

Derwent water is so stunning, shame about the hut on fire and the idiot campers still sat there at mid day - bafoons. But the walk - fantastic! See you very soon uncle yesssiii

Great camping barn ! I did the circular on new yr eve last year ,but went up Catbells and HiiSpy then down to Grange boulderstone and back to Keswick. Yesterday I walked from Buttermere up to Whiteless Pike ,over the top up to Causey pike looking down on Derwent. Then down to Keswick via Rowling End ,where the heaven opened with hailstone . Great on top with bright weather by the time I got to Causey and highly recommend that walk! Get well soon mate !

Great video Paul. Beggars belief with some people's view of wild camping.....i worry it will spoil it for us proper wild campers that stick rigidly to the rules. Take it easy.

New sub here, nice channel I have lots of catching up to do, agreed, Castle crag is one of the best spots especially for the exceptional 360 views for such a relatively short hike, lots to see with the slate mine and mini Stonehenge's. Had it to myself recently on a wild camp which is a rarity considering its popularity. Tut tut naughty campers, obviously young and ill informed but I`m sure they will learn the hard way. Cin cin

Just wondering why wouldn't it be ok to be in your tent at noon? Were they in an area with regulations? Got to remember to bring waders for that one section ;) Beautiful area!

Other than some parts of the Peak District and dartmoor wildcamping in the uk is unlawful (not illegal) in the Lake District it is "tolerated" if you follow a few simple rules, be above 350 meters in height, or above the last fell wall, pitch late (just before sunset) and leave early (just after sunrise) are the rules that apply in this case, people that are pitching by a lake at lunchtime should, and will if discovered by a park ranger get moved on, and in being discovered give us real wildcampers a bad name, there is also a good chance if this keeps happening wildcamping could get banned totally 😳 yeah Derwent Water is a beautiful area, atb Paul 🙏🏕🏕🏕😁

Should really have Rangers out and moveing them on, give them leaflets about the etiquette of wild camping really.
