Lake Ohrid, Macedonia - Known as the Jerusalem of the Balkans, Lake Ohrid is one of the most beautiful places in all of Europe. Having been settled for centuries, this city today was one of the holiest places in Europe and home to 365 churches, one for each day of the year. Despite centuries of ruin, many of the historic and archaeological sites are still accessible today. In this video, we explore all the historic sites that Lake Ohrid has to offer. From its incredible fort overlooking the lake to the historic amphitheater, there is so much to do in this part of Macedonia!

You should eat a Pleskavica at Mesarnica Kreas in Prilep. Everyone in Macedonia knows that Prilep is the best place to eat BBQ!

fun fact, north Macedonian churches are one among he first that ever was build,sadly those churches are long gone due of how old they were and most of them were desstroyed due to the waars .

Ohrid was one of the capitals of the First Bulgarian Empire. The fortress was named after tsar Samuil of Bulgaria. The church of Saint Sophia is also Bulgarian. Just don't mention Bulgaria because you might get beat up by the locals 😂

The Bulgarian empire had nothing to do with modern day Bulgaria unfortunately. It literally had no actual Bulgarians within it. Even Samuel himself was not Bulgarian.
