Looking at setting up a graph? This is how I like to set up a new graph for the first time. If you are not familiar with reading graphs, it is easy with a little practice. In this video, I show you how I set up my graph that is easy for me to read.

I know this is a old video. But i have the same unit. This was a very helpful video. Only difference on the 2d is. I use a little more clutter on my view. The setting that interested me the most was the setting you talked about for drop shot.

do I need a chip or something for my gps fish finder for a specific lake, or can I just use it as is?

I have the hook5 but the alarm volumes are extremely disappointing. The beep from moving around in the menu is louder than the alarm for shallow and anchor.. And that is in the enhanced mode and the audio turned to 10 which is the max. Do you also have these low audio volumes for alarms. The old LMS350A was excellent alarm volumes.

Do you leave the sensitivity in auto or manual. I thought you had it on -4 which is auto.

Changing the option to "Shallow Water*" mode may help as well. :-)

What frequency do you leave the broadband on most of the time? I accidently got an Elite 7 HDI with a 50/200 instead of an 83/200. Should I buy the transducer with the 83/200 or am I okay to stay with the 50/200 (i know that its not as good for fresh water)? Thanks so much!

+Garden State Angling Higher frequencies will show more detail but lower frequencies will generally have a wider beam - and go deeper. 50 KHz is fine, just a little bit overkill for a lake. There won't be much difference - just a little less detail... And if you don't have down imaging or side scan, you can use 200KHz to see more detail. If you ever have to replace your transducer, get the 83, but otherwise I wouldn't bother

Hello. My unit is ordered, but hasn't arrived yet. In the mean time, question: does the screen constantly scan right to left? In other words, when you are not moving (anchored), does the screen still scan right to left? Hope this makes sense.

Yes it does. As objects and fish pass under the transducer, these will come onto the screen and stay on the screen fir as long as that are under the transducer

Justin, first off big fan of all you do, thanks for all you share. I wanted to know what you thought about SI on kayaks and overall what are the advantages. Im looking at biting the bullet on a upgrade and wanted to know what you thought. Its going on a Hobie 14 PA. Thanks again for all your content

+Josh Alderson Hobie PA14 is essentially a small boat. SI is better suited for offshore fishing, but finding grass lines would be a an important thing in a kayak. I would say if you are strictly a kayak angler and want to catch more fish in deep water, it's a big advantage.

Does changing the sensitivity also block out grass and weeds?

+Skyler Tuma It can diminish the visibility but grass normally shows up pretty easily, really easy to see on down scan as well

Hey- I'm a kayak noob, doing FF research. I've upgraded my kayak and want to add a FF to it. I do inshore strippers and lakes and ponds. I like the idea of an SI model , I'm willing to pay for it but I'd like to get your thoughts.
