Lakers Adding Rajon Rondo To Coaching Staff?

Lakers hired their head coach of the future in JJ Redick but he needs a quality coaching staff. Rajon Rondo is one of the best basketball minds the game has ever seen and would be a welcomed addition to Lakers Nation staff. Lakers News has them linked to adding Rondo to the bench.

Too bad his street IQ is not equally high. His recent drug and weapons charges in Indiana are unacceptable for an NBA coach.

I agree with Kyrie when it comes to the coach of the team. 😀 Rondo would be ok. Can't wait to see who we draft next week. Hope we draft a big with the 17th pick. We may have to trade up.

Rondo would be a nice addition but the most important asssitant coach roles will be lead assistant and player development. I don't see Rondo as ideal for either of those roles. Coach Scotty Brooks or Coach Alvin Gentry would be my ideal lead assistant choices and Miles Simon as the player development coach. I think Rondo could be a nice coach to have in the lockerroom and coaches meetings though.

ummm...good luck with that. Are you forgetting that was the plan when LeEGO was first signed?? How'd that turn out??? Do you think LeEGO will do anything JJ wants, or, more plausible, will JJ allow LeEGO to do/not do (play defense) anything he wants. I don't even know why I ask that question.

Though i have no hopes, i wish them the best. First, he needs a good, deep, and well-balanced team. That will be difficult given that the Lakers is run by the terrible duo of Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka.

Hey I agree with you rondo might be the only guy that can match wits with Lebron but I personally believe that between Rob and Jeannie they are making sure lebron never wins anything else that's why he blew up the championship team Jeannie's father must be rolling over in his grave 😎

Jeannie Buss should change her name to Barnum and Bailey. The Lakers should change their name to As The World Turns. Even better, given their sad trainers after Gary Vitti retired, General Hospital. iow: the Lakers are a hybrid combination of a Circus mixed with a Soap Opera.

The Lakers have been fishing in a dried out back yard pond for ANY kind of help since LeBron fired everybody that was here before him. And it's not like they lament the Big one that got away, as long as LeEGO is on the team, they just don't have the right bait tp attract any winners. I think we need to find a new boat, a new captain who knows how to fish, and hang the prize fish we caught 5 yrs ago on the wall in the basement.

Tell me this: since when have Laker Fans had to Pray just to make the Play In Tourney? Since when do Laker Fans PRAY for ANYONE to make them contenders? And since when have the Lakers had to overhaul the entire roster every year? And why do we have to choose from a cesspool of unknowns, has beens, rejects, wannabe's and G-League talent, as we have every year since LeEGO has been here? Since when do we allow our 'star' player to 'rehab' a (fake) injury so he could ABANDON his teammates to attend the Superbowl?
