4-14-2004. KCAL9 (Lakers' former carrier of their road games) version. Paul Sunderand and Stu Lantz on the call. Sundy freaks out while Stu is contrarian as always.

So much pressure on Kobe's last shot with it being the last game of the regular season!!Also the pressure was high with the playoff seeding still undecided & the Pacific division title on the line.Kobe nailed that shot on the ROAD, over a 6'10 shotblocker in Ratliff and down 2......definition of CLUTCH!!!

Theo Ratliff fouled him on that shot too. I definitely watched this live, don't want to say how I reacted at the end cause it's too embarrassing. LOL

I admire kobe so much! He has done so much for the NBA that drops peoples jaws. But there is no moment that gave me more goosebumps then that last shot right there!

Remember this like yesterday. Always been my fave Kobe buzzer/s. But aside from that in OT with 30 secs left look how clever Kobe was on that handoff to Shaq. He got passed Darius then forced his way into Theo Ratliff to thwart off his shot blocking off easily to Shaq for a clutch and one. Plays like that seriously blows under the radar especially for Kobe where they say he couldn’t pass. Those who actually watched Kobe know how much of an underrated passer he was.

It’s 2021 and today’s Laker team is about to be bounced from the playoffs from a horrendous performance. Needed to watch Kobe’s highlights to feel a bit better. Thanks Kobe.

Watching this again in full. Damn, the Blazers had every name in the book that year. Reminds me of their 2000 squad. Not necessarily a well-balanced team just like in 2000. Lotta 2s and 3s, lotta finesse exterior scoring, no banger besides old Dale Davis. But they had a lot of individual talent.

My favorite Kobe Bryant buzzer-beaters. I remember seeing this live and being absolutely shocked and elated. 2003-2004 was such a whirlwind of a season; Kobe was dealing with his court case, the issues between Shaq and Kobe were getting worse, and there was an overall sense of uneasiness amongst the team (a lot had to do with the high expectations the team had after signing Karl Malone and Gary Payton in the off-season) . It really felt like the Lakers were on the verge of self-destruction, yet somehow they prevailed on the last night of this season on the final play. A truly remarkable moment.
