Thats a fact, We are seeing the NBA product of teams allow younger players play every team but the freaking Lakers. Why cant Castleton play also you mean to tell me in the entire GLeague there are no dynamic or explosive guards cause that's are problem or one of them. Look at the backcourt and look at all of the serious contenders backcourt. Each on has either a dynamic guard who is a explosive dribble-drive threat or a defensive guard or both. We don't have neither. Look at the times Lebron has one a chip and now look at the backcourts and now LOOK AT OURS. GUARDS MATTER I am tired of the Lakers burning out vets, not playing youth and bringing on more Dollar Tree players to fill out a roster. Trades need to be made

One of the most important things this season is health. Our team should be alright if we're healthy, especially if the coaching staff is solid (hopefully they at least call timeouts!!!) Lakers Nation thinks this is the depth chart: PG: Austin Reaves / Gabe Vincent / Jalen Hood-Schifino / Bronny James SG: Max Christie / Dalton Knecht SF: Lebron James / Jarred Vanderbilt / Maxwell Lewis PF: Anthony Davis / Rui Hachimura / Christian Wood C: MIA (what D'Lo will turn into) / Jaxson Hayes / Colin Castleton The Lakers think this is the depth chart: PG: D'Angelo Russell / Austin Reaves / Jalen Hood-Schifino SG: Austin Reaves / Gabe Vincent / Dalton Knecht / Bronny James SF: Jarred Vanderbilt / Max Christie / Cam Reddish / Maxwell Lewis PF: Lebron James / Rui Hachimura / Christian Wood C: Anthony Davis / Christian Wood / Jaxson Hayes / Colin Castleton The real LA Lakers depth chart as of right now: PG: D'Angelo Russell / Gabe Vincent / Jalen Hood-Schifino SG: MIA / Austin Reaves / Dalton Knecht / Bronny James SF: MIA / Cam Reddish / Max Christie (plays like a smaller 3&D forward, not a guard at all) / Maxwell Lewis PF: Lebron James / Jarred Vanderbilt / Rui Hachimura / Christian Wood / Colin Castleton C: Anthony Davis / MIA (not important) / Jaxson Hayes Main takeaways: 1) There are two glaring holes here that both the Lakers and Lakers Nation seem unable to find for some reason. 2) There is a complete logjam at PF nobody seems to see. 3) Not a single SG on this roster can play defense -> blame D'Lo 4) We still don't have any perimeter defense or 2-way wings. 5) There are a lot of useless players on this roster again. 6) The Lakers are utterly horrible at creating a roster that has synergistic lineups, where players play to their strength. Lakers Nation is worse yet. 7) As soon as a guard goes down, we are screwed against even mid-level competition, never mind in a series. 8) We aren't deep at all. In fact we are paper thin at SG and SF, arguably the two most important positions you need 2-way players on to win in the NBA today. 9) D'Lo is really the least of our problems. If D'Lo goes for some guy that can't shoot 3s or bring the ball up without losing it and is just as bad defensively THERE IS NO WINNING LINEUP THAT CAN BE CREATED. Jarred and AD can't shoot. LBJ can shoot and can no longer get to the rim, because the PG provides no spacing and neither Reaves nor Knecht nor anyone else on this roster can shoot and defend SGs. Yeah I know Max. Sure keep dreaming that he is Kobe light, but he isn't. 10) There is only one winning starting lineup that is possible here. You have to keep D'Lo and move Jarred to starting SF, which means Reaves and Knecht are your only playable options. Neither one has defense or fits with D'Lo, but overall you are balanced enough to pull it off, if Lebron plays defense. The only possible rotation is this: D'Lo / Reaves / Vanderbilt / LBJ / AD Gabe / Knecht / Cam or Max / Rui (18M !!! for 12 minutes behind LBJ is insane) / Hayes 10) If Vanderbilt gets injured or any of our guards besides JHS, we are toast again. We'll run through every option again and settle on starting Rui again. 11) Players we currently have absolutely no need for: Christian Wood / Colin Castleton / Maxwell Lewis / Cam or Max / Bronny James / Jalen-Hood Schifino. What should have been the depth chart had we used our assets and picks correctly: PG: D'Lo / Delon Wright / Spencer Dinwiddie SG: Alex Caruso / Austin Reaves / Lonny Walker SF: OG Anunbody / Taurean Prince / Stanley Johnson PF: Lebron James / Jarred Vanderbilt / Christian Wood C: Anthony Davis / Jay Huff / Dwight Howard
@Eastra32 күн бұрын
So much reason and wisdom in this post. I think I agree with 90% of what you said. I do think that because D’lo is 6’4 and normally guards SGs on defense, that we should start Gabe next to him in the backcourt, which probably would have been the pairing last year if Gabe wasn’t injured the whole year. On offense D’lo and Gabe are both combo guards, but both handle and playmakers better than Reaves. Either one can play PG or SG on offense. On defense, let Gabe be the point of attack defender, because he’s good on defense. They are an average sized backcourt with complementary functionality on both sides. For our PF log jam, yeah it makes no sense. We keep bringing in C/PF hybrids that are the same as AD, but do not complement AD in any way, such as helping with Jokic or Sabonis. We keep bringing in PFs that get moved to SF, where they then struggle, because they are being played out of position just to help LeBron pace himself because his endurance is no longer the same. We have so many PFs, when LBJ dominates those minutes, and even when he retires, AD is licking his chops to move into the PF spot. So none of these other PFs are useful for now or the future, so we should be trading them to upgrade. Rui is a great young talent, and I am a fan of his buttery mid range shot, but he’s wasting his career being played out of position, and getting scapegoated for problems with defending Denver, because he had to guard MPJ so LBJ could save energy, and have to guard Jokic the other half of the time so AD wouldn’t get abused under the rim. Rui’s natural position is PF, and if he was guarding Aaron Gordon, he would have been a plus defender, and had energy perform well on offense, but then LBJ would have ran out of Juice in the 3rd quarter of games, and AD would have been made to look as bad as he did the year before when he only showed up every other game in our run to the conference championship and the sweeping that came with it. I’ve been a fan of Delon Wright. That dude plays defense.

@@deddiev1718 and how many touches does Rui get on the bench? We are down 7, because nobody can stop anyone from shooting. There are 6 minutes left to play. AD is tired and plays the 5. Lebron is tired and plays the 4. We can't take D'Lo or Reaves (Knecht) off the court, because we need their shooting. The last person needs to create stops on the perimeter and make shots. They look at Rui. Damn we need stops on the perimeter. They look at Vando. Vando is up. Am I right or am I wrong? That's how it's going to go and you know it, because you saw it for all the games Vando was available for right? Rui Hachimura is a 18M dollar Lebron insurance policy and we can't afford that with a glaring hole at SF and Reaves starting at SG next to D'Lo. Those two things need to be fixed and Rui is the one guy that makes 18M and can be used to fix this mess - by trading him.

We're not going to have any other choice bro. Look at Gabe's stats from last season. Tell me which team wants to pay 10.5 for an expiring contract with that production under the new CBA? We're not trading Gabe to anyone, because nobody wants Gabe now.
@peyondi2 күн бұрын
Can we re sign DLO to a lower sum contract because nobody wanted him and more years, on the other hand trade like the other guys outside our top 6 with a 1st?? Much higher ceiling, more versatility plus size
@youngreshaud37922 күн бұрын
I would try to trade rui , gabe , Hayes or wood & picks for something. Keep d-lo
@catallguy432 күн бұрын
@anthonysalek I'm glad I'm not the only who seems to see value in Dlo. I would trade Rui, Vando and Gabe first (obviously want to dump Reddish and Wood too). If you kept Dlo, got rid of Rui and had a solid wing, this team would cook.
@MegaSherlockian2 күн бұрын
Nah. Lakers need a center. Literally, that’s all they need. Throw AD at the four and let him thrive. A line up of Dlo, Knecht (yes, I’m throwing him in the starting line up now), Bron, AD, and a solid center with Reaves off the bench is a good starting line up. Rui or Vando being the seventh isn’t bad, either. They honestly just need a good center.
@EvanMortonFilm2 күн бұрын
Lakers should go all in on bringing Ingram back. 20-5-5 consistently and a solid defender that can play SG-SF-PF. If you offered Reaves and a player plus picks would they say no? Russell, Knecht, Ingram, Bron, Davis. It's easier to replace Reaves than Russell because we don't have PG depth.

Keep Dlo till the trade deadline at least. He's going to play hard to secure his next contract seeing how people don't want him now. Plus teams will be more willing to take an expiring halfway through the season.

Why did the wizards sign the center we need , then want t to trade Kuz , he shooting poorly from three anyway , get rid of Vincent and Reddish n add some real ball players
@keepitmum83062 күн бұрын
Trading for Kuz would be just a move for the FO to say they actually did something. Kuz is not what we need. We need a big first because AD does not want to play the 5. However, if he wants to play the 4, he has to improve on his outside shooting.
@rodneywallace31222 күн бұрын
Bron is just a headline chaser at this point. All we heard was how much we needed a big to bolster AD, the team's best player. But all it's been is Bron's handpicked coach and Bron's G-League son taking up a full roster spot. I can't wait for the next chapter of our once proud franchise.

Cam and dfs I would do, young and bogdanavic? Does Milwaukee shake things up?rob Williams?

Here would be my trade package which I believe would work. Lakers get DeMar Derozan (21M) Nikola Vucevic Dorian Finney Smith Bulls get Rui Hachimura Gabe Vincent Jaxson Hayes Nets get DeAngelo Russel Cam Redish 2nd round picks distributed as needed from Lakers And in this setup, lebron, Derozan, and Austin share "pg" duties Starting lineup Austin Reaves DeMar Derozan Lebron James Anthony Davis Nikola Vucevic With key reserves JHS Max Christie Dalton Knect Vando Christian Wood This would also free up 2 roster spots for the lakers.

At this point trade for Lavine if they giving away a first with him...

It wouldn't hurt to give geoge conditt a contract for the minimum, the center from Puerto Rico is 6 11 and is a defensive center
@dunkingpawn32152 күн бұрын
It’s so presumptuous for Lakers fans/Trevor/FO to expect productive players to take salary discounts. Forget it once and for all…there is no LUSTRE of Lakers history, that can outdo the LUCRE of money for good players.

Why is anyone worried about giving up picks that are 3-5 years from now? By then the team will have to be turned over anyway, and you can trade AD and maybe 1 or 2 others for replacement picks.

@brandondavis68012 күн бұрын
Trade dlo and jhs, a first and a second for Kessler and sexton. This gives us a very solid, young, rim protecting big and a two way guard. Also the money matches up. Throw in cam and we also get under the 2nd apron.

Forget Cam Johnson!!!! The Lakers should be going after Cam Thomas!!! If they have to do a deal with Brooklyn.

Lakers fans are delusionals, they speak about other teams getting better, Kris dunn became a very good piece, he barely shoot, however they want to trade Vando, Prince was bashed the whole year, now he signed with bucks, you hear what a good pick up. The team is fine, we need a big and we ll compete.
@jameshall70482 күн бұрын
Yea but not having a good big off the bench is the issu cuz it’s been like that for 2 seasons. Also a pg that actually performs in the post season is a worry as well. If Dlo was a consistent 14-16 ppg (45% fg/35% 3pt) it wouldn’t be a problem.
