I follow the Lakers but I'm so happy the Celts won. I was tired of hearing the East is weak crap!!!! Well, the West sure looks the weakest now.

Last thing we need is another old, injury-prone guy on this roster, unless it's for a vet minimum & he can provide an asset we don't have enough of. Keep the 17th pick...trading up in this weak draft will simply waste what few assets we have. I'd be happy with Ware or Missi at 17...the latter more for his rim protection/versatile D, quick feet, overall potential & bright future. Ware has already demonstrated 3 point potential (can unclog the paint), provides mobility/agility & good rim protection. Edey has no proven perimeter shooting, is way too stiff/slow & will only clog the paint for AD & Bron...imo.

This topic and the overreaction from these so called fans is ridiculous if they think the Lakers are not the Lakers anymore. This team has won an nba championship just 4 years ago, made the playoffs 4 of the last 5 seasons including a deep run to the wcfs last year. I dont respect fans who think the sky is falling when they dont win a championship. It took the celtics 16 years to win a championship and will likely win it tonight. Fans need to be patient and have some faith. Im tired of fans bashing this team.

Thank you so very very true. Boston after tonight would have just their 2nd Title since 1987. Two championships in 37 years.. Lakers have 8 Titles in the same 37 year span.

Our franchise has been second- tier since 2021. We blame players, we blame coaches, but give the true decision-makers a pass. Rob ain't it, and honestly, Jeanie brings nothing of substance other than her father's last name. I pray every day that some ownership group rescues Laker Nation from this nightmare and begins to put the franchise first.

Lakers as an organization hasn't lost its shine, there's a reason why athletes mention the team every FA. If the Lakers honestly lost its glimmer etc they wouldn't of signed Bron or would have gotten AD lets be real here. If players cant handle the bright lights of Staples then maybe you're not the one 🤷♂, its that simple. Has the FO made dumb choices, yes, but what they're actively doing now is what we need to focusing on. If Rob fails to build a better roster, i wouldn't doubt he'd be fired next off-season, and thats a BIG IF.

I love how LeBron name keeps coming up when we question whether or not the lakers are the same. He only won a championship since he’s been there and led them in scoring as recent as this season. The franchise is the problem. When Magic left that was where the issues started. My humble opinion.
@EyesaSean6 сағат бұрын
Although Klay appears to be pushing for a better deal from the W's, the only reason the W's would only retain Klay is that he may make another WC team too strong but the critical logic against Klay is that he's been on the roster to no avail and Klay is most likely going to be replaced by PG, Hield, or some other 3 point shooting, more agile player.

Taking that big risk is why the Lakers had multiple successes. With Lebron's salary off the books after next season, the time is ripe for another big risk taking. This summer is a great time to go all in on three stars. Firstly, a look at this current roster vs. the top competition in the WC, and its easy to conclude that there is no one player available who can make the current Lakers a winner. The competition is stacked with a collection of players that the AD-LeBron tandem with an aging LeBron can contend. The situation calls for a two front roster change - a big risk. One front is drafting Edey, a slow player but he's got the 5 and its defensive responsibility and rebounding covered. Adding Edey will only work if AD is still on the team. It will have to be a twin tower cooperative like Duncan-Robinson. Edey will have to work the innermost of the low post on offense while AD will have to assist him to make the most of the inner post. There should be one defender between Eddy and the rim. One slip up by the defender and it should be an easy dunk for Eddy. When the defender(s) make it too tough for Edey to attack the rim, AD should be available for a quick pitch out for a short mid range shot, layup, dunk or lob back to Edey. The other front for roster change, trading Rui, AR, and whoever else to depth starved Phoenix for Bradley Beal. Although he's had health issues, he's the only guy out there additive to the AD-LeBron tandem. The vision of adding Beal from a few years ago is still valid in this stacked WC. Beal is in the wrong place. He added nothing to the Suns and KD is not a valid main guy; always injured when he tried and won only with a defacto championship team. The Suns current pieces don't fit into a championship team. Beal-Booker with no depth is not a defacto champion roster for KD. The Suns should be looking to reclaim roster depth and a breakup. A win-win situation for Lakers & Suns: depth for a 3rd star. In the past fans preferred depth over Beal as a 3rd star but with Edey on the roster, role depth isn't as big an issue. Dominant front court scoring will override SF&SG moderate depth. One final kicker: if the Warriors replace Klay with Buddy Hield, making Klay available to to return to SoCal to finish his career, maybe he'll take the Lakers taxpayer exception for one year. A roster of: Beal, AD, Edey, Klay, Lebron with CP on vet min off the bench.

Lakers are still the Lakers. The scouting dept has drafted very well and have found undrafted gems during Pelinka's time. They have done well managing the cap and going after stars. The organization has sucked with coaches since Phil left.

I still think if LA somehow manages to sign Klay (not saying it'll happen so calm down), people need to remember hes still arguably the best spot up 3pt shooter in the nba currently. LA needs consistent shooters on offense, and I can see it working out especially having two other stars that can get him more open shots. Yes hes older but lets not forget hes a lethal shooter from 3, hes better than what LA currently has when it comes to wings that can shoot the deep ball. Lakers need to stay away from CP3, back in 2013 it would of made sense to sign him but no not now. LA needs a young PG not old. Going back to Klay, he doesnt need to be what he was before his injuries, catch and shoot would be more of his style now and having bron and AD will open waaaay more opportunities on offense for a shooter like Klay.

Let him go and I want his wack fans who are infecting my beloved franchise with him. Let him do his retirement tour somewhere else.

Klay playing adequate defense and shooting 40% 3PT 4x NBA Champion makes him worth at least $15 mill yearly. I don't think the Lakers or the GsW will pay him what he wants, but a team like the Hornets/Magic can give him $25 mill a year. Whether or not he wants to continue winning or make money comes down to him. I think he takes the money. He already has 4 titles.

Not sure why Klay to the Lakers would benefit either the Lakers, or Klay? The Lakers aren't going to be offering Klay any more money/playing time, than the Warriors. The only way Klay becomes viable is, if there aren't any better options at SF for the Lakers, AND the Warriors have chosen to not bring Klay back.
@kevinallen14288 сағат бұрын
The last time the Lakers were really the Lakers is the '10 championship season. The 2020 season was chaotic for obvious reasons. But remember they got played by Kawhi the summer before. He had Jeanie and Rob running around SoCal like chickens with their heads cut off. Before that, Paul George said F the Lakers and went to the Thunder. He got mad that Magic didn't come get him before. He gave the finger to "Magic Johnson". Dr. Buss made the Lakers the Lakers. His genius, swag and leadership is greatly missed. He had the ability to work with challenging individuals, make difficult decisions, put out fires and leverage the Laker name to win on and off the court.

@hilamadventures40605 сағат бұрын
Huh? 2020 was chaotic? They had the second best record in the NBA prior to the shutdown which occurred with what 14 games left in the regular season. Kawhi played them for sure, I will never blame Rob & Jeanie for that.. but in the end what has that gotten him and the Clippers? I will never forget how he and PG13 played in that game #7 vs Joker & the Nuggets.
