The trade deadline will probably be the best means to improve the roster teams are going to be willing to negotiate fairly. The Lakers are still a playoff team so it's not all that bad. 47-49 wins is tough to do in a very competitive Western Conference and they manage to win 47 games last season. They got better just by making coaching changes. The ceiling is still there for this team this season to make a move just not now.

Went to my first NBA Summer League. Only saw two games. Blazers/76ers and Lakers/Celtics. A Monday, so wasn't expecting it to be packed for earlier games. Arena was completely full just prior to Lakers game, as opposed to a little more than half full for Blazers/76ers. That Blazers/76ers was a far better game. Bronny was the clear fan favorite. He got much louder cheers despite there being better more highlight reel level plays not just in this game, but the previous

I like austin reaves man. But him being on the team, and as a starter, is what holding back lakers from making trades. TEAMS WANT HIM, PLAYERS WANT TO REPLACE HIM IN THE STARTING LINEUP. we are stucked with this roster. face it. just hoping they'll be healthy.

Optimistic view: Lakers essentially added Vando, Christie, Knecht and a healthy Gabe while only losing Spencer and Taurean. We are also replacing a useless coach in Ham with someone who (hopefully) actually knows what he's doing. Nuggets got worse and they were the only team we (or at least I) were truly scared of in the west. If we play them now, I like our chances bc KCP was huge for them. I'd even argue if we had a better coach last year we wouldn't have blown all those leads against Denver. Yes Thunder and Mavs got better, but lakers did as well. Maybe make a trade for Kessler, but run it back
