This was why missing out on Valanciunas stung so badly. He would have given AD the opportunity to attack the perimeter more aggressively. Without a true beefy center, AD was tethered to the rim too often.

i get the appeal of wanting another starting level big to push AD to the 4 but i just feel there is to many flaws in this roster to do that. biggest one is lebron idk if he can for a full season and playoffs be in that SF spot guarding the wings he'd have to defend at his age for lengthy periods of times i get it AD would still play the 5 as well but i just don't see us getting a starting quality center (the resources it would take to trade for one) that is okay with a part time starting role but being put on the bench, i feel a starting level big would want to start so they can up their value and show what they can do etc another issue is AD's jumper has to really get back to at least what it was in 2020 his 3 point shot and even mid range hasn't been the same past few years, which i think part of which is him bulking up to play center full time but for AD to flourish at the 4 i think he needs to be able to space the floor far better than he has past couple years

Pushing AD to the four is not the reason we need a center. We need a big body on the four when Davis sits down And most importantly, what we need from that center is rebounding Because that is far and away the biggest problem for this team and nothing else is even close

@@LN-LiferI would push him to 4 because we got backup 4s and Wood or Hayes can backup our starter and we would have a better bench moving one of our scorer to the bench and not mention more max Christie and maybe get one bench guy we don't have as many holes as it looked it was alot of Darvin Ham drop coverage and second chance points because the defense got stops and gave the ball back defensive rating was inflated because of lack of rebounding

Look guys, this is my opinion: Last year, without ham (which was awful), we are winning more 5 to 10 games. If that is happening, we are maybe...5th, 4th seed. With Vando healthy we are a completely different team. We really need a decent big, but we are not that far. Rui was bad during the playoffs, but he proved already he can be useful. DLO is a good playmaker and good shooter. He really need people to stop doubting him for the offseason. That is all mental...and unfortunately we live in a the social media era. Of course we need a perfect season, add a big and we are not that far...Cheers and Lets go LAKERS

Running back the same team with the same coach would have been a mistake. Running back the same team with a new coaching staff (and another big) could be all the change that’s needed. That could be a good evaluation opportunity for the front office. Maybe Reddick better utilizes certain players and aspects of this roster. Maybe/ Maybe not. There is value in patience (for that reason).

AD had maybe his best year last year. Lbj is not a sf anymore. If you find a real center he's still just going to be a backup who plays about 15 minutes a game. So if you trade for 1 you better make sure he's a perfect f****** fit.
