St Petersburg FL downtown is 38 miles north west and about a 40 minute drive. Tampa is about 50 miles north and a quick 50 minute drive. Because of its unique position the northern 3/4 of Lakewood Ranch is part of Manatee county and the southern part of Sarasota County.
