Body of lies is one the most underrated spy thriller of hollywood, made by legendary director Ridley Scott though its not as good as "spy games" starring Robert Redford n Brad Pitt made by his own blood brother late Tony Scott. Mark Strong as Hani Pasha did a splendid job in that movie but man I would have loved to see Nana playing that character, Mark being a British gave more of a classy touch that character but Nana would have taken it to a whole new level with his raw intensity, discipline and method acting. Had Nana done that role he would have been one of the prominent actor of mainstream hollywood by now.

@@ellisreddingsparolehearing5863 I don't think so, Ridley Scott would never pick an Indian actor to play an Arab Islamic extremist character that was portrayed in that film, the guy who played that role was just brilliant with his cold blooded menacing attitude and that Arabic accent was spot on. Kashyap is saying here that Scott was impressed with Nana's performance in "the pool" where he played really cool minded mature character with class something that Scott would have loved to have for his Hani Pasha character. Unfortunately we as viewers of cinema can only speculate now.

I suspect Anurag narrated the role to Nana in way that it cld only end up getting rejected., or maybe he didn't put much effort in a way Ridley Scott wld have. Nana played the role of Tabrez, a gangster mafia n Apaharan, so I think if Ridley Scott himself wld have pursued Nana, things wld have been different. I still wonder why Ridley Scott wld go to Anurag and ask him to become the mediator around 2007-8, like why?

If Nana had rejected that Body of lies role then that would be the great missed opportunity to work with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe(I would cast Tom Hanks intead of Crowe in that particular role) and Mark Strong(Hani Salaam) did real justice to his character(I wish Nana had played that role) 🙏
