Once long time ago, I met Nana’s son Malhar on a flight from Mumbai to London. He was around 24-25 and I was 22. We talked for quite long time at the departure gate, he was the nicest celebrity kid and most down to earth person. He was going to London for cinematography school if I remember correct. I still remember he asked me how do we all Gujarati get green card so easily. :) He even invited me to his home for Ganesh festival. He said Nana makes so beautiful decorations for the festival. Too bad we didn’t have phone those days or social media or anything, how wonderful it’d have been to stay in touch with such nice man. Wish you the best Malhar…

आखिरकार मैंने इसे पूरा देखा.... नाना पाटेकर की बायोपिक...😅 मुझे बहुत पसंद आई... सभी बातों को पूरे फोकस से सुना और हैरान भी हुआ कि कोई इतना गहरा और फिर भी इतना सतही कैसे हो सकता है... हालाँकि मैंने नाना की कुछ ही फ़िल्में देखी हैं... लेकिन जितनी भी देखी हैं, मुझे उनके किरदार साफ़-साफ़ याद हैं... इस तरह के कलाकार हैं वो 🙌 ... उन्होंने कहा कि उन्हें वेलकम जैसी फ़िल्में करना ज़्यादा पसंद नहीं है लेकिन उनके कुछ दर्शक उन्हें उदय शेट्टी की तरह ही जानते हैं... और उदय शेट्टी अपने आप में एक पूरा किरदार समेटे हुए हैं... क्रांतिवीर और तिरंगा दोनों ही मेरे पिताजी की पसंदीदा फ़िल्में हैं हाँ, अगर वो दिन टीवी पर चार बार आता है, वो भी चार अलग-अलग चैनलों पर, तो वो उसे खत्म होने तक चार बार देखते हैं... और उन्होंने सही बात कही कि इन फ़िल्मों में तर्क मत ढूँढो क्योंकि अगर तर्क ढूँढोगे तो उसका मतलब बिगड़ जाता है... और हम इन फ़िल्मों में अपने ही समाज का प्रतिबिंब देखते हैं और आज भी ये फ़िल्में उतनी ही प्रासंगिक हैं जितनी तब थीं... हालाँकि फिर भी हम खुद को बदल नहीं पाते... नाना के निजी जीवन को देखकर ऐसा लगा कि इस आदमी ने हर तरह की मेहनत और प्रयास किया है जो किया जा सकता था...कभी-कभी उनकी बातें सुनकर मुझे ऐसा लगता था जैसे मैं अपने पिता की बातें सुन रहा हूँ...मुझे अक्सर उन पर गुस्सा आता है...लेकिन उन पर नहीं बल्कि उनके फैसलों पर और मेरा मन गुस्से से भर जाता है लेकिन आज तक मैंने उस गुस्से को कभी बाहर नहीं आने दिया, वो बातें मेरे दिमाग में चलती रहती हैं और बाकी दैनिक काम चलते रहते हैं। उन कामों के दौरान एक पल ऐसा आता है जब मुझे लगता है कि अच्छा हुआ जो मैंने अपने अंदर के गुस्से को बाहर नहीं आने दिया, वरना बहुत गलत होता... मेरी साधारण बातें सुनकर उन्हें बहुत बुरा लगता... इसका मतलब ये नहीं कि मैं जो बातें कहती वो गलत होती लेकिन अगर मैं गुस्से में वो बातें कह देती तो वो गलत हो जाती... फिर मैं सब भूल जाती और आगे बढ़ जाती... मैं सौरभ सर के परिचयात्मक मोनोलॉग को बहुत ध्यान से सुन रही थी... मैंने उनकी बातें समझने की कोशिश की लेकिन एक पल के बाद वो बेकार हो गए... फिर मैं बस उनकी बातें सुन रही थी... और खुद पर बुरा लग रहा था कि मैंने हिंदी पढ़ना क्यों छोड़ दिया... इतना लंबा इंटरव्यू पूरा देखना अपने आप में कमाल बात है... क्योंकि नाना ने अपने ईमानदार जवाबों से सबको बांधे रखा था और सौरभ सर ने अपने सवालों से सबको बांधे रखा था... मुझे देखना होता तो मैं भी कोई फिल्म या कॉमेडी शो देख लेती ,लेकिन मैंने ये इंटरव्यू रात 2 बजे देखना शुरू किया, मैं सोना चाहती थी क्योंकि मुझे सुबह जल्दी उठना था लेकिन लिंक ही नहीं टूटी , अब जाके मैं शाम 5 बजे ये पूरा इंटरव्यू पूरा किया. शुक्रिया। काश मैं भी न्यूज़रूम में होती। लेकिन कोई नहीं, यह भी ठीक ही है ।😊
