Lamborghini Espada at the 2020 London Concours plus a guided tour around the star cars there

The Lamborghini Espada's first event after its 11 month rebuild at Iain Tyrrell's Workshop was the 2020 London Concours, held at the Honourable Artillery Company's amazing cricket ground right in the City of London. This was the first public Automotive event to be held since lock-down hit some four months ago and have to say it was great to be there!
The Espada was entered in the Lamborghini 'Great Marques' Class and up against other Lamborghini models including the Miura, LM002 and Countach. I also give you a guided tour around some other entrants at this year's event.

Always amazed at how Harry manages to be a fully paid up member of the supercar elite and yet still down to earth enough to make us mere mortals feel comfortable and not the least bit envious. Well ok, maybe a touch of envy.

Scott I have every issue of EVO from No.002 onwards - I cherish them, and often read older articles - so yes, Harry’s contribution to petrolheads everywhere is multi-faceted - he is a legend!

Thank you. I detailed my cars myself and drove them there with a fellow Murcielago owner (2003 manual Grey Murcielago (Best in Class City Concnours 2018) and 2013 grey Aventador). A $50,000 year-plus rebuild. Results are impressive. That new clear roof is an unreal feature! The Espada is one of my all-time favorite cars.

Fun fact: When Harry shows the file on the Espada, it includes a feature from a car magazine back in the 1980s. The car is carrying the number plate '2VWL'. The man who owned the Espada back then might now be suffering much tougher financial times as that same plate is currently registered on a 2005 VW Lupo with >100,000 miles on the clock!

I checked that out too. It’s sometimes interesting to see very valuable plates on inexpensive cars. I wonder if it’s just a way of keeping the plate without the hassle of retention.

@@simonhaycocks I don't think it's true any more, but at one time you couldn't sell a number plate by itself, but you could sell a vehicle with its plate. So the usual way to sell a cherished plate was to transfer it onto an beat up old scooter, then sell the scooter including the plate for £10,000 or whatever. Then the new owner could transfer it to their car.

When I was a kid in the sixties,I used to ride my bike from Croydon to the Lamborghini dealer in Whyteleafe Surrey.The sales manager allowed me to sit in the cars.It was brilliant.I owned a Urraco P300 for a while and now a DB9.Happy days.

My transporter was registered in 1999 and that makes it not qualify for the ultra low emission zone in central London. I could still drive it in but it would cast £200+ each way for entering London's ULEZ

Any other car reviewer would spend a 80% of the time videoing the SVJ & Aventador and the other 20% videoing the other Lamborghini's. Love that it isn't the case with Harry.

That Stratos though ... Back in the day we had a monthly magazine "Hobby" in Germany. A4 size some 100 pages and glossy cover. It covered almost everything from RC models this then teenage boy could barely afford to ham radio this teenage boy couldn't afford to cars I could only hope to afford at some time. Then there was the article about the car which looked faster in a parking lot than a Porsche at 200 km/h on the Autobahn and I fell in love with the Stratos. The closest I came to one was the Delta Integrale I had for a year in the late 80s 😊

I have always driven my 2003 Murcielago to events and won City Concours in 2018. This year, a friend who also owns a manual 2003 Murcielago drove my car and I drove my 2013 Aventador. I think you will really like the movie of the drive from outer Surrey into Central London that was filmed. I also detailed my cars myself and have won Salon Prive in 2016 too. I'm please to read you support owners who drive their cars to Concours events. I also hope you support NHS keyworkers who treated COVID 19 patients who own and collect grey Lamborghini V12s too.

Yes, quite dismissive, not knowing what this was it would have been nice hearing a little about it. In his recent lockdown video, top tips for choosing a car he touched on roadsters then completely failed to mention any generation of the mx5, a car that single handedly revived the market for this type of car. I like Harry's videos but he sometimes comes across as a bit of an elitist.
