Was that ramp outside in a field? Lol. It's not the ideal place to work on vehicles. Bet the electrics for the ramp and rust gets to quickly.

LR is also 10K more because of the extra EDU (electric drive unit) though. Not just the battery.

Why would you compare the smallest Tesla to ID.7, the biggest of the lineup. ID.3 is even lighter than the Model 3, even though the boot space isn't actually that much smaller. And I'm certainly not counting the "frunk", because it's totally pointless.

I am self employed. I am not buying right now because the Government has made driving a mechanism for revenue collection. Parking: impossible. Cost of fuel (incl.) tax: massive. Road tax. Speed restrictions. Politicians just hate the freedom that the ICE gave people.

Had one Tesla model s for nearly 7 years and many petrol cars before. Tesla is incredibly reliable and cost less in running cost than any other car I've had. Battery probably has degraded but not enough to be noticeable. Tyres every 30k miles but no services or repairs other than wiper blades and 12v battery. Averages 313 watt hours. Not even needed new brake pads yet. Its not perfect but what is? Would prefer a few more buttons but I can live with it. The voice control in mine is rubbish so have to use the screen. You get a lot more for your money now although software updates have made the car better than when it was new. I've never had any bother charging it on the occasional long run using Tesla superchargers. I wouldn't fancy using another charger network but fortunately not had to even once. Its not as convenient to fuel as a petrol car on a run but more convenient than petrol most of the time when charging at home. If like me you have average needs and just want a simple motoring life where your car always works, needs almost no maintenance or repair, then it doesn't take a genius to realise that EVs would satisfy the use cases for the majority of motorists especially with a home charger. These days, second hand Teslas aren't overly expensive compared to a similar petrol car. I'll keep mine until it falls apart. Hopefully, that will be a while. If you're a petrol head and don't mind the inconvenience and expense of running something more exotic then Tesla isn't for you but fine for many of us.

I've done a couple of London-Lands End-London day trips in my Mini Cooper Electric, (it really is great around town too, especially when that town is Penzance and yer live in London), MOST people would do London to Lands End, via the M4, M5 and A30, NO go via the M3, A303, A30 to just outside of Exeter, then cut across Dartmooor on a couple of B roads, rejoin the A30 at Lifton, as yer can charge up at Strawberry Fields Farm Shop at Lifton, its just over 80 miles from there to Lands End and there is a Gridserve charger at Lands End too.

The only reason laws are being passed FORCING companies into fully electric is so they can implement social credit through blunt force. Don't like your government? Well we'll now shut your car off and turn your money off.

Great idea with dog mode…. A design feature that encourages dog owners to leave their dog in the car with the windows closed, which if the technology suddenly unexpectedly fails (as technology often does) or runs out of power, the climate control will turn off and if it’s even just a warm day the dog will likely die. Great job Tesla, another well thought out design feature there. 🤦🏻♂️

This is my first time listening to Harry's garage. Brilliant presentation. Clear, logical issues and discussion. Tks heaps from Melbourne!!
My complaint with the button-indicators is it's practically impossible to indicate if you-re in the middle of a turn; if the wheel is turned half-way and your cross your hands. Surely, these are edge cases/scenarios, but stocks don't have this issue. (but i guess we won't need stocks or buttons, once the car drives itself xd )

On top of the less-panic inducing extra range, for +10k you also get: - a lot better 0-60 performance - a better sound system (increased from 9 to 17 speakers) - one extra motor in the front = all wheel drive (better grip and handling)

If you based your decision on cost you'd be in an MG4EV SR as your family car and not worry about depreciation as you don't need to replace it for 20 years.

If you parked in an insulated garage and charged overnight, you’d come back to a nice warm garage after your 5kWh losses had heated it up! Thanks for highlighting that Harry. Knocking 10% off the efficiency of EVs is massive!
