When Dex shoots V in the head, V is about to die but right after his/her "death" (this is just a gameplay element, but it is well shown that V flatline)), the nanites of the biochip start "repairing" his/her brain's neurons. He is dead. But Arasaka's "magic" brought him back to life, like a zombie. Imperfect magic, because it parasitizes his body with the mind of Johnny Silverhand. But it is not of this death that V speaks, when he says that he is already dead. Very few people seemed to realise what really happens. At the end, V is dead. Not going to die. Not dying. Already dead. In fact. V dies as soon as you reach Mikoshi. Alt hits you with Soulkiller the second you connect to Mikoshi. Which is what was agreed but there's a detail glossed over. Do you remember what Soulkiller does ? It's very clearly explained earlier on in the game. The Soulkiller, after creating the engram utilizing an advanced matrix recorder, stores it in a huge database, and Arasaka's own part of cyberspace known as Mikoshi. It then wipes the original personality away, leaving a mindless husk that eventually dies. Soulkiller kills the host after creating a copy of his engram. And even if V hadn't been killed by the Soulkiller during the copying process, his soul would still have been "crushed" by the copy. A copy. Just like Johnny.

V did indeed die however way you want to put it, even if he came back to life later, all the same he died again when soulkiller hit him and there's the debate as to whether he came back AGAIN or it was not V but a copy of him believing himself to be V.

No he didn't, he died because the Gig went wrong.

Jackie had no idea that the Relic would restart a dead person. He died because the gig got messed up. Him putting the chip in V's head wasn't to save V -- it was just to keep the chip in a living person's slot so that the temp control would be consistent enough to prevent damage to the goods. It wasn't a sacrifice. It was just getting the job done.

Yes!! Admittedly i hated the story on my first playthrough, but its mainly because i wanted a very open rpg and was hugely dissapointed how it all basically revolved around silverhand. Something i learned to love on future playthroughs... so yeah. Thing of beauty indeed, just as long as you know what youre getting :D

kinda late to the party, but I would like to continue the theme. The Tequila Sunrise was an astute choice for something getting more stronger the further you get. But I wanna go bonkers and go for the thematicaly appropriate "Tarot Special", a lowball drink consisting of 3 condensed mixed drinks: It starts overconfident (The Fool), vanishes (The Magician) and comes back in a grandiose manner (The World). A barspoon is required to mix the layers and a we prepare 3 mixes: High sugar content at the bottom: butterscott schnapps mixed with coffee liquor. Overrated, tasty yet somewhat predictable. After that we're going rogue, the necessity to adapt, mixing the somewhat bitter aftertaste of defeat: The Negroni - gin, sweet vermouth, campari. Stirred. Just like our life. And for our final at the top lets go full THE WARUDO ("The World" for you non-weebs) and go for something which has been served since the 1800's: the old fashioned - sugar, bitters, and a rye whiskey. A testament to endurance, wisdom and reliability. Doesn't get old, ironically. Just like a vampire, coincedentally. Drink with a straw, cause nobody will dare making a joke about the "V's Victory / V's Special / Tarot Special"

I agree 100% hated how I couldnt order a drink and ask the bartender questions while sitting down.

By NPCs you mean "food and beverage retailers". Since you do see the animation the first time, we know it's not a limitation of the engine. It's a gameplay decision - CDPR decided (wrongly for some) that you wouldn't want to have to sit through the same animation over and over. The focus was on speeding up the "shopkeeper" system to interrupt gameplay as little as possible. Click on barkeep, ask for drink, interface pops up, click and done. The error was in not realising people would think of NC as a place they just want to chill in from time to time and wander around getting some takoyaki and a beer. Modders need to add "food serving animations" and "walk and eat" ability to V.

Depending on your choices he gets 3 deaths throughout the game. The two you mentioned and depending on your choices the voodoo boys also kill you while killing off a bunch of netwatch agents

That's what i thought as well. You can see it in the first gameplay trailer. The game had another story. You could see when they paused the game silverhand was one of the options to have as your hero. So it would change up gameplay. That story line was dropped. Im sure of it.
