@richard fleet- using the red filter is a must wen lamping foxes as it isn’t as bright or as dazzling as the normal white light from the lamp so using the filter the foxes don’t get panicked or out and much more likely to come in to the call 👍👍👍👍

We get a lot of foxes down here mare but they only come out of a night so you don’t see them all that often. People will tell you it’s population control even though there isn’t massive amounts of them about. If anything they actually help farmers by keeping the rabbit population lower.

These foxes are tiny, doubt many are full grown. And the light is probably blinding the fox throwing it off. There's plenty of other videos where the foxes outrun lurchers in normal daylight without the lamp shining on it.

@@tyler23mma A prime north American red fox is larger, smarter, and faster, they can run up to 45mph, I am not sure how old these foxes are but many look very very small, it would be interesting to see an adult male get outrun, but again, this is Ireland and I believe the red foxes here are different than what we have in America.

Sheep/lamb and chickens are in the food chain for humans, we are the top predator, foxes are also a predator it is nature that the top predator kills those who it sees as beneath itself in order to retain as much of its own food source as possible, what I don't agree with is blood sports, this is where someone with a gun goes out and shoots an animal for fun, the animal isn't having an effect on us in anyway just someone decides to go and shoot something, another reason this is wrong is that the animal can't defend itself it has no way of even trying because it only has teeth and claws, a dog also only has teeth and claws, in my opinion that's a far fight a level playing ground. Also if people don't go lamping or hunting then farmers will resort to trapping and shooting foxes anyway.
