R.I.P Dean Brown😢

I came across this video over some years ago and it was my introduction to the legendary Dean Brown. Needless to say and I was immediately blown away by his talent and unforgettable energy. R.I.P. Dean Brown 🎸

Saw him play this live at least 4 times, and I actually got to play it myself on his ensemble class. What a challenge that was, and a great learning experience too. Dean just loved to throw you to the wolves as student to have you rely on your instincts, because that is how he lived as a musician, always committing 100% to every note no matter the context. Rest Maestro, thank you!

Back in the 90's i will never forget that inspiring feeling Dean gave me when i was 20 years old. He was playing with Marcus Miller at S.O.B's in New York City. That night was my very first Jazz Concert i will never forget hearing rich, articulated- notes, and chunky strat- rhythms groove a-flow; through the united environment. Thank You Dean. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Dean's dance moves are out of this world. His guitar playing is from another galaxy!

I can imagine a Hammond B3 tying this all together rather nicely.

The former tonight Show band Drummer Marvin Smitty Smith, with the host comedian Jay Leno back in the day. Very excellent Drummer. The great LA Session Studio Bassist Ernest Tibbs. Ernest is the Bassist with the jazz fusion band Protocol. My brother from another. The great Guitarist Dean Brown. Dean is so rhythmic and so melodic, with really excellent Dynamics in his Guitar playing. Dean got the Funk. Because once you Funky, you always Funky.

Ernest has great pocket and tone.

Damn Man!! !! I just discovered Dean a few months ago and it just keeps getting better and better. Awesome phrasing, groove, direction. love it . Can't believe I've played guitar forty years and just now stumbled on to this by accident. God Bless ya for posting this....
