Well All of her music video are like that, cinematic shot, vintage and hard story telling to understand and her sound never changed through years.. every albums are different but still she stays true of what she likes. She stopped to put the american flag the moment trump was elected but before she always put it in most of her music video ! You have to do her Ride music video , it’s a autobiographical video. Her last album is gold !

Lana sounds like she’s from a different era in most of her music. I don’t know how she does it but she has her own unique sound and style that doesn’t even compare to others. And her ability to story-tell through songs is unbelievable.

Check out Ride, then after I would recommend checking out "The greatest"! It's on her newest album and I think it's criminally underrated. As you pointed out, her earlier works heavily featured Americana (she definitely used to love a good flag overlay). "The greatest" is so powerful (at least in my opinion haha) because it somewhat flips that narrative and speaks about the disillusionment of the culture she once revered and a desire, but inability, to go back.

Love your Lana Del Rey reactions. I think in this specific video Lana is like a ghost haunting the guy through memories that’s why he’s older and she’s still young. This next part Im not 100% sure about. But If I’m correct the older guy is supposed to represent the same guy from Born To Die and Blue Jeans music videos but there he’s young. That’s why if you do west coast music video you will see her with the older guy and the younger one and she’s using the same models/actors like a continuation of a story. Pretty cool concept.

Since we are into whole "Sad olympics" now, you should react to "Dark Paradise" "Ultraviolence" and "Old Money". Trust me, these are soo worth the listen. And then of course "Ride", the song and the video are praised for an actual reason god damn!

Lana and the old man used to be lovers, but Lana died when they were still young, (that's why in the video she is still young but her lover has aged) so apparently he can't forget how much he loved her in the past, and now he sees lana's ghost everywhere he goes, and you can hear lana singing "I can't get trought your world" and "he prays for love, he prays for peace, and maybe someone new".

She does that a lot especially on that Ultraviolence era, which was after her first album and ep. I think her Norman Fucking Rockwell! era and some parts of the Lust for Life album tracks are her most modern sounding music. I really dig that.

So this video is about a man that losts his lover (she died). But he can't forget her the way she was when she died. Thats why he's so much older than her. There's another video within this theme - West Coast.

She is always this vintage throughout her record. But it is always has that different vintage, if you know what i mean. This song is from her second album, Ultraviolence. She embraces the vintage soft rock like from late 60s or 70s. While her first album Born to die has that cinematic 50s aesthetic topped with the hip hop tracks. If you got into her third album which is Honeymoon, you'll hear the jazz aesthetic, 70s hippie, and mediteranian vibe to it.

Lana rlly loves old movies and old songs. I think she does change it up but that vintage feel never gets lost. Her last album came out last year and you will still have that vintage vibe in the songs and videos. In a lot of her videos and lyrics she also uses a lot of references. In this one the scene where she is dancing for example is inspired by the 97 lolita movie. Vladimir nabokovs lolita inspired a lot of her early work in general. The pool scene could be inspired by marilyn again. She just gets inspired by the past. In her song Love and the music video for it she talks about that love for the past she and her fans have

This is from the ULTRAVIOLENCE album (2014) but Ive been only sporadically familiar with bits and pieces of her other albums since BORN TO DIE (2012) so having a proper listen to this one along with you. Apparently theres an alternate video for this as well and the Bond Theme comment appears to be spot on with critics when it was released. More Lana Suggestions: YOUNG & BEAUTIFUL (2013, from 'The Great Gatsby' movie Soundtrack) LOVE (2017). or her part in DON'T CALL ME ANGEL (2019, from 'Charlie's Angels 2019' Soundtrack, sung with ARIANA GRANDE & MILEY CYRUS). It's her usual style dropped right in the middle of an Ariana led pop number.

Her aesthetic been changing. From Lust For Life on she's been more old school than the Old Hollywood Glamour that we know her for, but still have it. It's more blended now, I think.

ohhhh sha can play and sing with the eras.... this is actually one of favorites, the whole album has this "stoner rock" kinda of feeling that i love more than any other of her albums, i recomend to you, before goin further into her albums, see and watch: "west coast", "money, power glory"; "Ultraviolence" and... since you into the 80s sound..... maybe more the weeknd???

Every album has a slightly different sound. Born To Die is a sort of hip-hop vintage fusion, Ultraviolence and Norman Fucking Rockwell! have more of a psychedelic rock sound, Lust for Life is a little more pop, etc. Ultraviolence is my all time favorite, I think it's where she sounded the best.
