My favorite tournament to shoot was the 900 round. At the time I was shooting it was still in yards, not meters. Bowhunters shot 40 50 and 60 yards. sights were not allowed to be adjusted after you started shooting and you were only allowed to use a spotting scope or binoculars between ends. If I remember correctly we had to use fingers too, no release. Shooting competitively most definitely helped me be a better shooter when it came to shooting deer from a stand. Any competitive shooting will make you a much better shot on deer. What I like is the skill level of the bowhunters class is so high their scores are as high as the unlimited class.

Yeah shooting at this level is difficult. So props to all the guys brave enough to show what they got. But I do think they should be rules that prevent equipment that is not designed strictly for hunting . No target bows or target sights. Hunting arrows and all.

As a fairly avid bowhunter. I don’t know how you Classify this category as a bowhunter round. Those are target bowS, target sights and etc. Whatever Lancaster sells in its hunting category, those products should only be used in this class

I have to say that while I love shooting competitions, and I shoot hunter class in the local 3-D scene, this is a far cry from a bow hunter class. I get it, this is an indoor competition, blah, blah. But let's be honest, shooting a target bow with shorter stabs and no lens, but shooting 27 DIA arrows and what not in this class just means you know that you have no shot winning the open class. I shoot against guys like this all the time at leagues with my hunting rig. I even accidentally knocked an arrow one day that still had a broad head on it. Keep this class open for the guys and girls that truly want to shoot a hunting rig. Not hide from the open guys.

I'd love to know more about Dakota's sight . Really like the fact that he does not have any glass in his sight. It's almost the trueiest bow hunter set up. I think the bow hunter set up needs to become more like the bare bow rules , in the way that it's the "True" bare bow: So no target bows, no glass in the sights, and no electronics on the bows other then maybe a sight light. Maybe a little bit different targets for them as well. But really not as important as making it a true bow hunter class. As far as stabilizers not sure what max front length is. But I've seen people hunt with 24 inch front and 12 inch rear bars out west. But back to the target. I'd like to see darker circles in the yellow only because I've got old eyes, but also because the yellow holds 3 points where blue and red only have 2 each. But really not as important as the bows and the set up of those bows! Plus I think an inspection should be done by an official at the line before the start. I mentioned this only because there has been a few times in the past where a camera angle will look down the bow arm and show the sights and " to me it looks like they have magnification glass in the sight. Not much. But even a 2x would give lots of advantage.

Man, thought this was going to be “real” hunting bows. This would be like allowing recurve balancers in barebow.

I’m fine with guys shooting target bows in this division to a point because you can hunt with any bow. No sight magnification and arrow ID limits would be more realistic though IMHO.

Easy for me to say from my couch...but I definitely go for the twelve on that last shot. You are talking the same size dot... go for it. Good shooting guys

How can that even be a "bow hunter" class, Nothing they are using (bow/arrows) would not be used in hunting. Seems deceptive.

Some of you guys have no business watching this bc you obviously don’t shoot many “Hunter” class tournaments…lol Hunter rules state that stabilizer lengths, no magnification, and a no adjustments can be made at the stake. Btw, those guys could kill a deer with those same equipped bows if they wanted… If you want primitive, watch the bare bow class and settle down…. These guys work hard to get to this point and the competition is twice as tough bc everyone wants a piece of the “Easy” class!!

I think that if you shoot Bowhunter then it must be a hunting bow. If your taking a target bow to shoot bowhunter then you’re in the wrong class.!! And if you think it’s ok to use a target bow in the bow hunter class. You are not a hunter!

"bowhunter division" let me fix it.... 34" ata max. no fat arrows, 60lbs min draw weight, no blade rests. then it would be bowhunter.

Where are the hunting bows?? I don’t know anyone shooting 38 inch axle to axle. Come on Lancaster? Make it 34 inches an under or 2 classes for sub 32 and 32 to 36. While also having to pull at least 60 lbs. or quit calling it bowhunter class
