Watched a bunch of D loop videos. Everyone was doing what you showed with their own take on the process. Why your video is a stand out is the filming.. Your close ups showed the process unhindered by your hands. The other videos obscured important portions of the D loop construction due to incomplete details due to large hands in the wrong frame. Great video!!!

Great presentation. Great instruction. Does this work for left handed bows? Is there anything I need to know before I try this?

What do you think about metal D-loops? Are they worthy or are useless? Do they damage the string? Thank you for your time
@br4nd0nh347 Жыл бұрын
I read some reviews on Amazon, it looks like for some that it can cut the string.

Are D loops used on traditional bows and / or takedown recurve bows?
@sur3real6853 жыл бұрын
Nope usually you use your fingers
@adamrosenberg4367 Жыл бұрын
@@sur3real685 I was watching this and thinking that it would make a nice nock point without having to crimp brass onto your string. You don't Have to use a release with it

Are the dloop pliers a necessity? Can I just use the needle nose and expand it? @lancasterarcherysupply
@spyder3574 жыл бұрын
That's what I do, seems to work ok
@TheAegisClaw4 жыл бұрын
Even better if you have some circlip pliers that are the opening type.
@bltefft3 жыл бұрын
Not for me, I just use a regular set of needle nose pliers. Then, one of those "no-fire" release to further snug it up.
@Donnybrook10 Жыл бұрын
of course they work just fine...same as paracord. He's selling products.

P.J. I'm confused to the point of determining the size of loop? Is there a standard size to look for? Where does draw length come into play? Thanks P.J.....Mike
@LancasterArcherySupply Жыл бұрын
There is not a standard size. You make it to the length that suits your anchor, and that's where draw length comes in. That's obviously part of the equation. But if you go to a tournament, you will see D loops of all lengths. There is no standardization because it's all customization

I know these guys are sharp but this is not the best way to tie a dloop. It relies strictly on the melted end, and I know some will say if it's melted correctly it will be fine but that's not true at some point you will have one break. Use the clove hitch it is very similar and does not rely strictly on the melted end and will not slip.

I wish somebody on the world wide web would inform folks of the best way to tie a d-loop. It's not what you see here and everywhere else. The best way is using a clove hitch, which is similar but not the same. The clove hitch cinches on the cord itself, and the quality of the meltedball has little to do with it. Unlike what you everwhere on the internet, which is basically two half hitches, which slip, and rely heavily on the meltedball. If you shoot enough, you will eventually wind up hitting yourseld in the face when the ball breaks off. I have been shooting my current d-loop for 3 years now.Clove hitch, the best way, only very few bow shops know.
@mikhaelstibino6 жыл бұрын
I agree, and I am happy I found this comment of yours. I am confused and concerned about people using two half hitches for the þ-loop: it's not a secure knot, and it may be dangerous to use. The clove hitch should be the standard.
@sinnlpz90325 жыл бұрын

Clove hitch is an awesome knot. I use it for just about everything I tie up.

You are correct, this subpar dloop is all over the internet, I guess some people don't mind hitting themselves. in the nose
