Paul Kimmage is one of the best investigative journalists that has ever been involved in cycling. He persisted through thick and thin, even when Lance and Team Sky mounted vicious legal battles to suppress his exposés. The lickspittles journalist crew who chuckled away at the end of this clip should be ashamed of themselves and their enabling of Armsrong.

That is a perfect example of how hard it was to take Lance down. When I hear people say Lance was unfairly singled out I point to cases like this that have nothing to do with the fact he doped. It is all about his constant character assassinations ("you are not worth the chair you are sitting on") that he did to Paul Kimmage, David Walsh, Emma O'Reilly, the Andreau's etc., etc., etc. Lance has got everything he deserves.

Armstrong was a master manipulator with powerful rhetoric and at his core a total bully that i would argue most hyper successful men are. That said he also he raised millions for cancer treatment. Im not arguing that one cancels the other, but it makes the lore of Armstrong very strange and conflicted. Other fraudsters make and steal money and leave victims, Armstrong made millions for cancer patients while defrauding corporate sponsors who made millions themselves on viewership. It’s all very weird.

Lance spent much of his best years in cycling making statements to appear above many people. He always made it seem like everybody else was on such a lower moral ground than him, that they were such horrible people. The fact is a cancer is a malignant growth or tumour, and Lance was exactly that. How things have changed since this occurred in 2009. One cannot underestimate how much of a battering Lance's ego will have taken in 2012, and rightly so. David Walsh and Paul Kimmage, we salute you.

Kimmage is one of the top European sports writers, multi award winning and usually extremely witty. He wrote a great book about cycling which mentioned doping from is personal perspective. He was an Irish champion cyclist as was his father, uncles and brothers. Cycling means a lot to him and he seems to be the only journalist in the world that cares about stopping Doping in cycling. People want to hang him for his use of a metaphor rather than listen to what he has to say.

His denial of drug use is not the problem for most people. Rather it is his horrific treatment of Emma O'Reilly, whom he labelled an alcoholic whore, his treatment of a true hero, Christophe Bassons, whom he bullied out of the tour, his treatment of the Andreus, his usage of a deadly disease as a shield against being subject to due scrutiny and so forth. His drug usage is largely irrelevant except for the fact that it revealed the limitless and deplorable depths to which Armstrong would sink.

Paul Kimmage has brass. To do that back in 2009, in a room full of members of the media who were clearly buying into Lance, as can be inferred by the laughing at the end. Then sit there through the rest of the interview. Cajones.

Sociopaths don't apologize so I wouldn't hold my breath if I was Kimmage.

Kimmage's crusade isn't about being a "hater" and he doesn't have a personal crusade against Armstrong... it's about the truth. Or at least trying to expose the truth. He cares passionately about sport - and especially cycling - being drug-free He does have previous... in the 96 Olympics the US press had serious reservations about Irish swimmer Michelle Smith. And Kimmage was one of the few Irish journalists to agree with them and point out how much reasonable doubt there was about here

Is there such a thing as a journalist of integrity? Maybe I've been reading the Daily Mail too much...

oh sure his choice of words (cancer) weren't great, but he's a passionate man who is fighting for his sport and sometimes over passionate. but i'm glad he's won the his battle.
