A better question would have been: do you think you had enough in the bag to keep Alonso behind in case he attempted an overtake? Question was legit but the way he phrased it was poor. Anyway, drivers are highly paid professionals, they know how to deal with this stuff, it's just another part of their job.

What even is this? Some people need to either learn to be respectful or just get out of the sport all together. Like Stroll didn't deserved that? And the what was that for? Line is just???? VIaplay has absolutely NO fucking place in Formula 1. I don't know about other counties, but at least in The Netherlands they have been sucking ALL joy out of the sport and the insane amount of entitlement and 'poshness' coming from them is evident. I switched over to the F1TV commentary after giving at maybe 10 minutes before I couldn't even stand the commentator and his lack of energy and precision. Olav Mol and Ziggo have had some big flaws, but at least they are full of energy, passion and excitement. Especially at the ending, what was that?? She says "Ah, the little beam of sunray he is, as always". What would you expect after such an unbelievable shit question? This wasn't even a "intense moment". This was just Lance Stroll being "uhm.... okay?" for a full minute and rightfully so. The cringe is off the charts, but not due to Lance.

Like always reporters trying to create tension within the team, Alonso just answered it was fine, good for the team 6 and 7, he did not want to crash again the floor of the car or making Stroll crash defending.

I love how us fans will always have our own opinions about drivers, but when those drivers face that scourge of media questioning, you can always count on us to band together against it.

I am from Holland and this is a Dutch interviewer. The interviewer does this a lot and it's quite annoying. There have been plenty of times where he asks weird/stupid out of line questions and he's already making a name for himself out in the paddock. I don't think he will last beyond this year honestly.

In Baku and somewhere else, Lance told Alonso to “take the racing line” so he could catch up to cars in front rather than defending against Stroll. So this comes back full circle. They both know the goal is P1 and that this year is a year to build the team.

This is typical dutch interviewing. I like how straight forward we are, but it's a balance act, unfortunately our media in sport is also negative and pessimistic often. If a dutch athlete fails, they have to feel guilty to the entire nation, no kidding. Instead of support, journalists will chop your head off. It would be nice if dutch reporters learn to have at least some respect, this is embarassing.

I think Lance's point is that it was Alonso's choice not to fight or ask for the position because of his Championship position. So why not ask him? There was no real point to asking that question to Lance.

The team got the same points no matter which way they finished the race. There was absolutely no way with What, 8 laps? That Alonso could catch the next car. He’d have to be 2s per lap faster, and have to fight his team mate for position, which could jeopardise his tyres, or even result in one or both going out the race. What would have been more interesting is for Alonso to get drs, swap positions, then Lance get drs swap positions, and get an Aston Martin drs party on the go to try to get fastest lap

So a guy comes 6th in the grand prix and people still say hes not good enough for an F1 seat. Not being the best does not mean he's not good enough. Because of him and his father we have a team that has put some excitement back into the sport. Without Lance there would be no AM F1.
