Do not make information up. Here’s my resume [PASTE RESUME] 3_ List out the differences between my original resume and your suggested draft in table format with 2 columns: original and updated. Be specific and list out exactly what has changed down to the exact wording How to rewrite CV bullet points: 1_You are an expert resume right there with over 20 years of experience. The best video I've seen on how to do this. Wish I would've had this before applying to a CISO job recently! Guess I'll clean it up and try again! The metrics prompts were most interesting but the interview prep prompts were most crucial in my opinion. Overall, SPOT ON video. Can't wait for part 2!! Thank you Jeff!!!

Having around 20 yrs of work experience, I still believe learning process never stops. Youngsters are fortunate enough to have all these platforms on their fingertips. Writing a Job winning cover letter & resume have always been a challenging task since I began my career their is no perfect resume template exists that make sure you'll get shortlisted for the first interview . In my humble opinion 60% of your cover letter & resume content remains same regardless of the position & company you're applying for the rest 40% consist of your past & present work achievements & that's what majority of the recruiters are eyeing for so it's essential to tailored that part according to every post's requirements. Jeff, this is an amazing video! So clear and executable! I've watched several times and practiced the steps you suggested. This process works so well! One thing I'm curious about is the Chrome plug-in you used at 9:18 to easily paste in frequently used content. May I ask what plug-in that is please? I have recently started crafting my profile and got my functional resume as I'm trying to get and internship. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge. The bigger question to ask is do hiring managers/recruiters even look at cover letters? They do not since every quality job role is receiving over several hundred resumes. You are much better off sending a very brief email to hiring manager/recruiter stating 1. Someone within their company who can recommend you. 2. Stating how your current work, hopefully at their competitor, aligns with job position. 3. Thanking them for interviewing you. A general cover letter stating how great and wonderful you are is almost always a waste of time.

I would agree 100% that networking gets you further than any cover letter David 😁! At the same time, I want to provide an option for those who want to write cover letters to write the best cover letter they can!

Wow, this is A LOT! It seems you went very fast. I have to rewatch this again and again to catch your good points. Also, I use ChatGPT for job searching too but I find that I ask it too much and it gives me too much good answers that my brain can't handle it all at once. Can you make a video on how to focus on one thing or issue instead of the many? You don't have to make it if you don't get it. I just find using ChatGPT for job searching is fascinating. As always, have a great one! 😅

I would just timeblock and tell myself to focus on "cover letter" for 1 hour instead of worrying about all the other steps!

Wow I hope I don't keep you waiting for too long! This video was 3.5 but I recently purchased ChatGPT Plus. I'll probably still give all examples on the free version moving forward and I'd say the free one is more than enough as long as you're using the right prompt engineering techniques!

Excellent video sir! I used chatgpt to help with recent application which is still pending; I'm preparing for the interview, the prompts which helped with leveraging the about me, with links to job description are invaluable, I just hope my brain can hold all of the things I want to say together!
