Change the wheels of the Discovery 4 to 20" and add some Mud Terrain tires and it would change sooo much! Same to the Prado. I added Giti4X4 AT70 on my Discovery 4 and works great on these muddy roads

The traction control in the Discovery is super intelligent given it had onroad tyres. I feel that the 2.7L Prado wasn't pushed to the limit.

I was surprised that the Discovery got out with the low profile tires. A muddy road is never easy. I would say the Prados effort was worse.

The 2.7L prado is the most useless for such a test. The weight to power ratio is so off it struggles uphill even on tarmac. The body is too heavy for a 2.7L engine.
