I love all the Civ games and I've played each and every one of them since the first one in 1991. I really enjoy VI but I'm more of a casual player. I've beaten it on King but I don't think I could do Deity lol Good luck with the playthrough and I subbed too!

Hmm. Another slow start with low yield tiles. But I think long term the appeal will be good for late game. I’m picturing 1000 national parks 🏞️

At the start when exploring, if you see tundra, go away from it. There will be barbarians there and you want to know where they are and kill them but it shouldn't be at the expense of finding new locations to settle and you will be unlikely to encounter new civilizations there. Since you didn't scout away from the tundra, once you had your first settler you didn't have the appropriate intel to send them anywhere safely or knowing for sure wherever they were sent would be a good city to settle - all you knew was where not to send them which you would have known anyway because tundra is a rubbish city location.

The options were limited and there was the need to start getting more cities down. It wasn't the easiest of starts but it was a better starting location than my England play through.
