Cool! These look like smaller Seismic wheels, 80-ish mm, right?

Right on! They are the Blast Waves at 78.5 mm. They are a great balance of big enough but also much lighter than any similar alternatives on that size range.

Which wheels would you recommend for the bossa ldp 42?

I think for topmount pumpers something in the 75-80 mm range is good. I like the Seismic Blastwaves as they are 78 mm diameter and light for their size.

Hi. I ride an icarus. Interested in bossa .... Is it worth buying? Will there be a big difference? Thanks in advance)

As someone who owns more decks than I need, I am the wrong person to ask whether it is worth buying haha. I would say it will be different than the Icarus. I think the Icarus is as fine a mass production deck as you will find with a very nice flex. The flex on the Bossa is dialed in just right though for long distance pumping, and I find it to be a very lively and fun board. You probably could set up the Icarus for more distance riding but I have never bothered as I think it makes for a great cruising pumpable deck with excellent flex. But not something I want to cover a lot of miles with.

@@easternshoreadventures2596 Thanks for the answer. Yeah, if all the boards in the video are yours... You have more than everyone on KZfaq). I like pumping and wanted to build another board for deep and fast pumping . It would be interesting to try a board with brackets but no where. I wanted to get your opinion on which way to look - top mount or board gbomb style with brackets? Range is about 20 miles. Thanks

I'm thinking about buying that Bossa 42 myself. What are you using for a set-up? It looks like your using reworked Bennetts but I was thinking of the Don't Trip-Front Poppy SP under a GBomb DDS bracket for the front and the GBomb TTX Torsion Tail for the rear but I noticed you just mounted the trucks to the bottom of the board with no brackets. Any advice would be helpful as LDP gear is expensive and I'd rather not buy twice. Great video, btw.

Thanks for watching! I actually have the adjustable versions of the Poppy trucks- the slalocybins. They are very similar to the poppy with the added ability to quickly change the angle. It is helpful when first dialing them in, but the same thing scan be accomplished with small degree risers. As to brackets, the Bossa 42 is a top mount deck and therefore does not require or really accommodate brackets. My guess is it would bottom out with brackets and would certainly be very odd in terms of looks and performance. I’m not sure if you have had experience with top mount vs. bracket decks. LDP gear can certainly be very expensive and very niche in terms of individual preferences. Bennetts are certainly a cheaper way to try out the feeling of LDP with a smaller investment. And plenty of cheaper cast RKP trucks can be decently pumped, but not quite as efficiently.

@@easternshoreadventures2596, are the Don't Trip Slalocybins the same truck as the Poppy but with an adjustable-angle baseplate? They both come in an optional 125-143mm width and I would rather adjust the angle than have to wedge it if I can and then just use a flat riser pad to elevate it for wheel clearance.

@@theoriginalrabbithole Yup, you’ve got the right idea. I personally dislike working with angled risers and associated longer bolts that bend. I don’t mind the slightly added cost, weight and complexity of the slalocybins for the decrease in hassle factor. Functionally they are the same aside from the angle adjustment.

Looks fun. The flex looks just good for full body pumps. Can I ask your weight? Is this Medium flex?

So can you generate more speed using a paddle, or is it about equal to pushing? Thanks
@easternshoreadventures2596
@easternshoreadventures2596 Жыл бұрын
I probably can generate a bit more speed pushing though once you are really moving you can certainly maintain decent speed paddling. The advantage to paddling in my opinion is more that it contributes to the flow of not putting a foot down, especially when adding pumping to the mix. It feels a little less jarring and more continuous if that makes sense. For flat out speed, it is hard to beat pushing in my opinion. But it is nice to get your upper body into the mix with the paddle from time to time.

@@easternshoreadventures2596 Thanks I just had the Hamboards Pro delivered.Long time old school vert skater wanting to get into LDP, and finding pushing long distances both regular and switch aggravate an old hip injury. Preliminary test runs out front earlier agree with exactly what you said above.

@@bobnery That’s awesome! Enjoy your new board! I’ve had my share of injuries lately including a rotator cuff issue that has limited my paddling of late. But it is cool having other ways of riding and still getting out on a board.

Hi, i am searching for a second LDP topmount pumper deck. I also got a bossa LDP 42. Can you compare it with a pantheon genesis?
@easternshoreadventures2596
@easternshoreadventures2596 Жыл бұрын
Congrats on your Bossa 42. That is a very fun board. In comparison, the Genesis feels stiffer/less lively. It has more room for front foot placement and the front lip is helpful to feel out where the end of the board is. Acts much like a foot stop (which I don’t use in general). I like the flex of the Bossa but the Genesis is also good fun.

Hi, can you compare the bossa ldp 42 and the ldp 38?
@easternshoreadventures2596
@easternshoreadventures2596 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, and thanks for the comment. The decks are actually very similar. I believe the intent with the 38 was to create a platform that was low enough to push easily but also maintain the leverage over the trucks that only a proper topmount pumping deck allows. The deck cutouts allow the trucks to be mounted lower (less riser height) compared to the fuller figured Bossa 42. Many people like to ride with their front foot directly over the front truck to increase leverage. They may prefer the wider-nosed 42 for this reason. I tend to keep my front foot slightly more rear so I don’t mind the cut-outs on the 38. All that said, the decks are way more similar than they are different and have very similar flex and comfort. I would be happy with either. I do prefer the aesthetics of the 42 and when I get either board pumping well I don’t really want to push so the lower deck height of the 38 for pushing just isn’t that important to me most of the time. But if I planned to ride a trail with more hills I would prefer the lower deck height of the 38 to make pushing and foot braking easier.
