What angle did you set on the bossa & Genesis on your slalocybins

I know this video is fairly old, but I was wondering if you’re thinking about posting a 2 year review like you did for the wiggler? I’d be curious to hear what your thoughts are, provided you still have it after two years. Regardless, thanks for the initial impressions, I’m looking for a new board and trying to find everything I can.

Yes the 125/narrower hanger with a 55 degree and spherical. But with the adjustable brackets could certainly run a 45 degree. I have about a 5 degree wedge on the bracket.

I am running the narrower version Poppy which I believe is set to the widest setting with spacers (?143 mm). I haven’t experimented with anything other than a zero degree rear as I like the rear being so stable. It would be fun to try something looser in the back, but one of the things I appreciate about the deck is how rock solid stable it feels in the back and forgiving it is of switching foot placement regularly

Appreciate the follow up! The Setup seems to be working great for you. For the back it's the Ecolite- t zero, right ? For the front, would you experiment with other trucks, or does the poppy hold up well ?
@easternshoreadventures25967 ай бұрын
Yes the back is the Eco-Lite T-zero. I still have my TTX sitting around that I might some day put back on the Bandito it started out on. I’m always up for experimenting with other front trucks. Have thought about trying the Valkyrie slalom truck but those are $$$$$. Looks like Pantheon is tinkering with some LDP truck ideas so I’d be open to trying those in the future. The only thing I really don’t like about the DT trucks is hammering out the kingpin for maintenance. It is about time for me to replace the kingpin in my Poppy so I’ll see how much that gets me cursing soon.

Hi. I ride an icarus. Interested in bossa .... Is it worth buying? Will there be a big difference? Thanks in advance)
@easternshoreadventures25967 ай бұрын
As someone who owns more decks than I need, I am the wrong person to ask whether it is worth buying haha. I would say it will be different than the Icarus. I think the Icarus is as fine a mass production deck as you will find with a very nice flex. The flex on the Bossa is dialed in just right though for long distance pumping, and I find it to be a very lively and fun board. You probably could set up the Icarus for more distance riding but I have never bothered as I think it makes for a great cruising pumpable deck with excellent flex. But not something I want to cover a lot of miles with.

@@easternshoreadventures2596 Thanks for the answer. Yeah, if all the boards in the video are yours... You have more than everyone on KZfaq). Which wheels would you recommend for the bossa ldp 42?

I think for topmount pumpers something in the 75-80 mm range is good. I like the Seismic Blastwaves as they are 78 mm diameter and light for their size.

Which deck do u prefer, Bossa 38 or the 42 u tested in another video n why?
@easternshoreadventures25968 ай бұрын
If I had to pick one I’d choose the 42 because it just feels so right. The 38 is easier to push as it can sit lower with fewer risers due to the cutouts. But I don’t like it as much aesthetically, and I have have other boards that I like for combination of push/pump. But the 38 is still a very versatile and fun board. I just haven’t put as many miles on it as I have far more decks than trucks!

@easternshoreadventures2596 Жыл бұрын
Hmmm… It depends… For pure fun, hard to beat the Bossa in my opinion. It is lightweight, bouncy and playful. The flex is comfortable. But the Genesis is a great board as well and likely a bit more efficient. It has helpful lips on front to cue your feet where the end of the board is. I’d be happy with either frankly. The Hamboard is a different beast. It is so pancake flat that I don’t find it comfortable or particularly safe for hard pumping(I don’t feel like my feet are locked in due to lack of concave). However with bare feet in the summer my longer Hamboard Classic is great fun to play around on. So I think this shorter Huntington Hop will also be good fun in the right conditions and barefooted. Just haven’t had the weather to try it yet.

Thanks! The setups on the Bossa and Pantheon are nearly identical. DT Slalocybins with Blastwave wheels. The Hamboard uses its own proprietary trucks which use a spring and WaveCam based on Original trucks.
@erich1394 Жыл бұрын
@@easternshoreadventures2596 Nice! Aren't the Slaocybins basically adjustable angle Poppy's? I'd be interested to know your thoughts on the Hamboard trucks - I've never ridden anything other than RKP trucks. Would you take them downhill / are they wonky for things other than pumping? Do they respond like a high angle truck or do they sort of have their own thing going on? Just curious! It's hard to find information and it would cost a bit of cash for me to figure out for myself. Thanks for the great videos!
@easternshoreadventures2596 Жыл бұрын
Yes the slalocybins are very similar to the Poppy but the adjustability I find very useful at least with initial setup. It is hard to describe the Hamboard trucks. They are certainly unique. They turn very easily and you can lean fully into them and have zero risk of wheel bite due to a hard stop on the truck along with deck cutouts. They have good center stability to a point but then get loose in a hurry once you move off center. I don’t downhill so I can’t address your question but my guess is they would be less predictable and secure feeling compared to RKP trucks with actual bushings vs. the wave cam and spring. If you get a chance to demo a board sometime or find a pair of old Original trucks it would be fun and different feeling at the very least.
