Not 24v, only the series army Land Rovers were pure 24v. 90,110 and Defender used 12v, they had a seperate 24v system if they were FFR, this used a very large seperate alternator mounted high up on the engine, the main vehicle electrics are 12v. The later Wolf 90 and 110 went back to 24v for vehicle and radio. 👍

The penman trailer was designed for the Wolf, not the N/A 90. Would have been mated to a GKN sankey 3/4 ton trl.

You didn't mention the NATO standard 12 pin trailer socket, which will include convoy lighting.

They make a Model T Ford look luxurious… I borrowed a 90 XS, coincidentally on the last week of production in 2016 I think. Frustrations of the noise and poor steering lock soon subsided and despite a 140km motorway run to return it I was totally smitten. If I could find a reason I’d have one in a shot.

I had that engine, good news, it's simple, reliable and super easy to maintain and repair. Bad news: Sloooooooow. Although fairly quiet for an old diesel. I've put in a more modern 200Tdi which is surprisingly noisy but a lot faster, torquier and more powerful.

68 KF 57 was used by 104 REGT RA (V) and then later 37 SIG REGT. So UK based with no deployment. In to service 1986 and cast quite late in 2010 from storage.

That EMP rating might unfortunately come in handy…..

The L85 rack is not pointing up for safety, as any soldier stowing a loaded rifle would be on a serious charge! It is the mk2 mount area, originally being one on the passenger floor to dash and one horizontally on the bulkhead behind the seats. The Wolf has them between the seats also but higher mounted. The trailer would have been a 3/4 ton trailer, by Sankey, or Bradley, etc. The Penman is much newer having arrived around 2004 designed for the Wolf, this 90 Land Rover would have been cast from service before the Penman was made.
