Yes thats true.. the lights are on a timer and seem to time out after a while and when i have the battery low warning the lights are disabled !

Re. Overhead boot lights FYI. My North American manual (drawing) indicates that boot should have 4 led lights. The two lower ones plus two more in the ceiling. Simon I’m wondering if JLR have any comments

Yes they are the same - the footwell light is the only one that is different.

I would double check your lights in the footwells - at night with the lights on i think they will have a dim glow to them.

powerfulukltd Hello Simon. Now I have had a good look at my interior lights and no, my footwell lights only work if you open the door or turn on the interior lights and when they do, they are always white and do not change however you configure the ambient lighting colours., The ambient lights only alter the centre console and a strip on the top of the door card at the point where the leather colour changes so for me it is where the ivory leather meets the black. I have the darker red colour choice but I see that other colours can be brighter and send more light to the footwells but mostly by accident. As for door down lighters, mine are under the door mirror but there is nothing in the bottom of the front door card at all but I think there are on the rear doors. I do get some extra lighting because I have illuminated door tread plates. I have made a film of this which I will try to put on my You Tube website after this...if it works I will post a link! I hope this is of some use for product design! 😀Richard.😀😀😀😀

You can just unplug them or stick some tape over the lens on the underside of the mirror You want to go in stealth mode ?

I have not heard of this and it is quite unlikely - you can quite easily swap the lights back over and see if this has any impact. When I had my wade sensor issue the dealer was convinced that it was some changes i had made to the car ( lights / Dashcam / etc ) but it was poor connections in the end. Let me know what you find and how we can help.

@@L663 hi yes apparently the guy was having issues with the Radio turning on and off the engineer put the original lights back in and the problem was solved engineer said changing the bulbs is affecting something on the pivipro

@@garylane9052 I know some LED lights have been known to emit some electromagnetic interference which can reduce reception / interfere with radio etc. Is it the real luggage light or the footwell lights ? but please try swapping the lights back to original ( its quick to do ) and see if that resolves the issue. Let me know so i can investigate more.

I have the lights fitted in the boot footwell bottom of doors and boot

@@garylane9052 The footwell lights will be off unless you are driving at night when they come on low level, Do you have ambient lighting on your Pivi system ? The other one that could possible give an issue is the rear boot one as this is near the antenna but this light will be off when you are driving. It may be worth disconnecting the footwell lights as the first ones to rule out any issue.

@@bo3baid I did not. The dealer said there isn't a harness in the dash to tie into. I am hoping for an aftermarket kit that could plug into the footwell lights and come on at the same time.

Seems a bit severe but its your hard earned cash so you need to make sure you are happy on what you spend it on .... i think customers will be able to demand more in the coming months as the economy slows

We have not had this issue reported. We do suffer with flat battery just from having the door open.

My car 2020 defender 110 , p400, only 6000 miles 🫠 maybe the battery dead couz long time the car not running

@@Alisilverado Disconnect the lamps you fitted and fit the original ones - I am sure this is not the problem but Land Rover do not like it when other parts are fitted. You need to disconnect the battery - under the seat and charge the battery - Jump starting the car is not a good idea as it can make voltage spikes.

I would not thinks so - this should be under the "changing a bulb" sort of thing....

The old Disco 4 was better for that ( i imagine ) as you cant lie down in the new Defender rear !

Bill Talbot Townsville Toyota are doing very well with the LC 79 series, what should be the Defenders competition. In Australia, Africa it is doing very well. The new Defender is not a vehicle built to challenge the 79 series, it is in a different segment all together. There is a market, wherever industry, farming and off road touring are. LR have just given up!

I’ve got a 109. It’s got a light in the front and one in the back. And a fog at the back for loading/ reversing. Projectors underneath? Ffs. They’ll never get muddy though but
