In this video we look at how to remove the front door card on our Land Rover Defender L663.
We are looking if the speaker connections are there for the "missing" mid range speakers and also looking if we can upgrade the main woofer in the door.

Its a well thought out design. I do like the design of the door with the exposed metal / exposed fixings etc

Thank you for this very helpful video. However, I have no idea what speaker upgrade would work. If you test the 2 black wires that connect to the (woofer) speaker, both have positive voltage. The 2 wires are NOT positive and negative like other "normal" speaker wires that connect to a woofer. But I was able to upgrade the tweeters on my Defender since they have both a positive and negative wire.

Yearning for the days when cars were made of metal and held together by screws, nuts and bolts (Defender TD5 90 owner) 🔩🔧🔨

And door cards were made of some hardboard that went soggy when they got wet.....

@@L663 …and the clips rusted which rusted the door as they scraped the paint off. Enjoy the vinyl peeling off in the Summer and going baggy never to fit properly again. Ah yes…memories of times gone by..and in this instance, thank goodness!!😎😎😎😎

With the speaker removed would it be possible to remove the broken glass from the recently smashed window? Auto Windscreens were at a loss and said they couldn't remove it!

I did not look into the hole but this would seem to be a good start ! Sorry to hear you had the glass broken in your door

@@L663 It does come off a bit further, but u need to watch for a cable clip deep in behind the centre of the panel. Managed to get 99% of the broken glass out though.
