very sad i used to always go here at least i have a memory from it i bought a shirt from there 2 years ago when sears was still open and i never wore it and yesterday i found it and i was like “oh a memory from landmark mall and sears” very sad to see it getting demolished

Will the Landmark Mall demolition be completed before the opening day of the 66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes?

Probably, but it could be close. They are currently wrapping the Macy's in plastic, so there will be a delay while they go back and do more remediation work. I wonder if anyone showed up to return something on the last day it was open but 5 minutes before closing making a big stink asking for a manager or if anyone has been caught shop lifting and they were like "ugh...just go 😑"

Jonh too bad you don't film the whole Landmark mall demolition I would like you to film the end of the Landmark mall demolition a lot and also film the rest of the Landmark mall

@Nik Pirouz Yeah that was rough seeing the Sears brought to its knees like that - been in this building many times over the 20 years living here. We even had our family portrait taken in the photo studio in 2011. The happy news is we are getting a brand new hospital that will benefit you and anyone else here who needs advanced medical care. The Landmark parcel could not have gone to a better use for the citizens of Alexandria!

@Nik Pirouz Yes it's still standing although the facade has been removed and they are starting to nibble at the rest.
