i remember hearing somewhere that its something to do with the lighting. Basically its easier to make stuff look realistic when you have obvious direct light sources in a dark environment. The challenge is when you have normal day lighting. One great example of this is the T-rex in Jurassic park, that film was made in 1993 yet the CGI on the rex looks so real! its because again its a dark environment with strong and obvious light sources!

Yo I legit had a nightmare about Godzilla hunting me down, and ghidorah looking for me it was scary as fuck. I was hiding in a house I remember and all I saw was ghidorah's eye through the window, peaking in, breathing heavily. And me trying to escape the city from Godzilla as the city was falling apart, and there were two godzillas. It always made me wonder how a Found footage godzilla movie could play out.

This probably my favorite Godzilla sequence in not just the film, but in the entire MonsterVerse. It was peak classic Godzilla scene! Godzilla emerging from the depths, a beautiful close up shot of his dorsal plate, Godzilla arriving on land, him fighting the jets, using his atomic breath to blow the entire thing up, and standing over a lake of fire, claiming war against humanity!!! This is the Godzilla we’ve been waiting to see for a very long time and it was truly amazing to see! I had a big smile on my face seeing this sequence!

The funny thing, this movie is almost the MOST like the mid-to-late-era classic Toho films in that humanity knows about Godzilla and they've developed countermeasures specifically for him. Hell, even that "Titan Shelter" in Hong Kong seemed like something Toho would do. I also loved seeing Godzilla being more antagonistic in this film, really harkens back to how he was in his first movie and a few others.

the F-35 pilots in this scene were incredible, using their standoff weapons from 100m away and flying directly into godzilla's arms. Truly among the greatest pilots in the history of cinema, almost on par with the F-22 pilot from the beginning of pacific rim.

It’s also funny how people think the writers actually took into account people stuck in rubble and CNN being biased. They probably picked a random number between 1-10 to put down so Godzilla can still be good guy
