After my landscape photography talk for the RPS in Northern Ireland, I had a spare day to explore and shoot some images. The day was bland and I didn't have enough time. Still, it's always nice to create something.

You've got a beautiful, endearing, creative mind, Thomas. About the third-best thing to going on a photo walk oneself is watching one of your unpretentious, shooting-for-the-joy-of-it, photography-is-a-journey videos. The second-best alternative, for me at least, is going to an art museum, but that doesn't take anything away from your amazing work.

I can speak from my recent travels, Northern Ireland from Belfast going counterclockwise around the coast all the way to Killarney, will give you opportunities to shoot for weeks on end. That isn't meant to take away from the other parts of the coast and island, but if you want locations similar to what you saw here, Northern Ireland is littered with similar locales. Remember what Thomas has been saying about the conditions that are handed to you at the time and make the best of them. I'm not sure there is such a thing as 'perfect conditions' when shooting Ireland. No regrets! You will love it. Absolutely gorgeous!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your beautiful work. I am new to landscape work and I really like the whole process of it all. Thank you again for your time and effort and your willingness to share and teach others.

Charlotte must be ever so patient! Even when your partner is into photography, conflicts over time and location occur regularly on our road trips. My husband is a videographer and drone pilot, but rarely takes stills, whilst I want to take the time to soak up each location to find the best composition etc, he usually is the one rushing me on! Either that, or we stop at a boring ground location, that just happens to have a great view from the air. I am left counting sheep on the ground, absolutely nothing to shoot but the bitumen road and a few weeds, whilst he is flying high above soaking up the aerial scenery! Cant imagine the agony we would inflict if travelling with someone who was not a photographer! :)

Thanks Thomas, as inspirational as ever and you always get that shot despite the hurdles of weather and time constraints. Some great locations all around the coast here in NI and down south and as someone has already said, biggest decision is to leave again. Superb images and really captures the wild atmospheres that you faced. Good luck as ever and maybe we'll get you back in fairer climes.

Which is why most landscape photographers are solitary creatures especially when going on location. Or at best, if the spouse wants to go along then they should be supportive and not take away from your creativity by being impatient. Just saying.

Ireland seems to be extremely beautiful. Hopefully I can visit it some day. The lonely tree is truly beautiful and what's funny is that I actually use the term "delicious" to describe sceneries all the time. The other day I was shooting a lonely tree too, mid day, b&w, without rocks. It came out fantastic. :)
