I donlt know where my fear of cows came from, but it's something I (literally) have to get past in pursuit of landscape photography. A video from Black Crag in the Lake District National Park, starting from Tarn Hows. This is Landscape Photography.

This is a much shortened version of a video that I put out earlier this year. For those of you that have already seen that one, apologies for the repeat, there’ll be a brand new vid out next week 👍🏻

I thought this was the “Bob” video cut down Dave 😂 Nevertheless good to get a Lake District fix on a Sunday morning 👍🏻

@@AndrewHamiltonPhotography Thanks mate, tbh I had originally cut this one as the main landscape vid from the day. However I thought I'd pop the 'Bob' version out to test the waters of a half hour video. On the day, I had in mind that it would be two seperate vids - one for bob, one for the 'scape. Thanks for rewatching :)

Funnily enough Dave, I've got a video going live tomorrow in which I have a cow encounter! I do think I saw this one earlier in the year, but I also have a terrible memory, so some of it seemed new! Good to see the footage and images again anyway - some great shots in there. 🙂

Thanks Walter, it was a really fabulous location to visit, one which I could have spent much longer at and deserving of a return visit one day soon. Hope you're keeping well :)

Cheers mate, yeah that ladder was precarious to say the least, I felt it move underneath me and thought I was going for a face plummet!

@@LetsClickPhotography I'm usually ok in August - despite being allergic to grass and tree pollen, weed pollen doesn't affect me too much ;)

I enjoyed the video when it first aired, and I enjoyed it just as much the second time around, especially your jubilation when you got to the top - how great a feeling is it when everything comes together like that? As for cows, well, I also am very wary of them, but recently kind of got through that a bit on the Purbeck ridge, because my mate was more scared than me, so I just took it upon myself to get them to move out of the way. Really didn’t help when they started following us though 😂😂

haha, I think that might well be how I started to become really weary of them. Several years back wandering through a field in Cheshire with a small herd in it. About half way across, they started to 'herd' round me. They weren't aggresive at all but as they followed me through this field it began to feel very claustrophobic indeed. I took a different route back!

It's funny I was visiting a friend up in Scotland a few years back and we stopped at this small loch outside of Inverness and there is a pasture of cows between the road and the loch. My friend opens the gate and steps in and me being American my first thought is that the farmer is gonna shoot us for being on his land ... my second thought was holy crap those cows are huge! We did manage to make it to the loch-side and THEN my friend gives me the advice "just walk slowly and stay away from the big ones with the horns!" 😁 What an amazing location! My dream is to someday make it over to photograph the Lakes District!!

The timing of the advice was perhaps a tad tardy haha, but it's good advice nevertheless.....'stay away from the big ones with horns!' They are pretty placid animals but in calving season they can be erratic, protective.....and always huge, best to take a detour in my opinion :) Hope you make over to the Lake District one day, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

Cows kill more people in the US every year than alligators or bears. I think bear spray, while made for those furry death machines, would work on cows if one were to ever charge you. Just a suggestion 🤔 Great video mate! Those views, wow! Love the enthusiasm as well, very inspirational! And of course, a beauty of an image at the end! Fantastic work mate, really enjoyed it as always! Chat soon pal!

Sorry mate, I missed this - was getting several unhelpful comments on an old vid which, for whatever reason, started to get some view this week, must've pushed yours down the list so I didn't see. The spray would probably work on a bull charge but the cows tend to charge as a herd....how big are those canisters!?? haha

@@LetsClickPhotography when JoAnna and I hike, we both have one, just in case one emptied their can. Hope to never use it on a bear...or a charging herd of cows 😂
