In this video I meed up with Simon Baxter and we explore far from the path in search of winter woodland photography. During this outing we experience heavy snow fall with poor visibility followed by beautiful light on the distant mountains as the storm passes.

MEG! It was a great day to be out in the Scottish Highlands but I was very disappointed with Tetley instead of Yorkshire tea ;-)

I love all three photos. Really outstanding. But my fav, by a whisker, is the pano. Definitely worth the setup time and effort. Though that light on the mountain shot is killer. You're such an inspiration to me. By the way, eat all you want. I love seeing your van. I can only aspire to such luxury.

whats so crazy about those two other trees on the side (pano shot) is that it makes the main tree in the middle that much larger , its just crazy. and the trees on the side looks decent large trees already but seeing it dwarfed by the one in the middle just makes the shot look epic.

Go the extra few yards and get Yorkshire Gold tea (yes, another tea related comment 😉). Love the 'opportunistic' mountain shot and I'm glad it made it into the video. However, sometimes it'd be interesting to see some that didn't make the cut (Sunday video content) and the reasons why they weren't good enough. Keep up the great work, Thomas.

A fantastic video! Absolutely loved the pano, best of the three in my opinion. When you were taking the first I saw the trees on either side of the composition and then to see you pano minutes after.. just glorious! The third image was so perfect, as in it looked like a miniature construction shot to look like real mountains! Also love the idea at the end with displaying the images with the shot info, think that should for sure be a staple in upcoming videos! Fair play on the great idea

Beautiful images from a beautiful glen. Liked the first and last image the most. Admire your ability to capture the more intimate images - I'm usually awestruck with the combination of the caledonian forest, lochs and mountains and feel the need for the obvious shots.

Another great vlog, loved the last image. first comment I have made Tom, but am working through your older posts. Great stuff again, you and a few others I have found through your channel have made me dust of my tripod (sand the rust off I really mean!) and get off the sofa. Outside at the weekend, alone and soaking wet in search of an image was great and i would not have done that if i hadn't stumbled upon your channel, will keep watching and supporting. I thought I was too old to be inspired but you have proved that to be so wrong. Thank you. Your efforts are clearly appreciated by a lot of people and I for one (and many other ones as well) won't be missing any future posts you make.

Hi Thomas, Love the cropped tree photo and the pano is also quite nice. Really love the mountainscape scene. Don't know about others, but, watching your workflow with the camera to take a shot is very helpful in refining my technique. Watching you reminds me to do things more efficiently and also keep your eye moving for another shot. Tea can wait.....interesting as an American, I like Teatley tea, BUT you folks have soooo many great teas!! Best, Bob
