Struggling on which dinghy to buy? Don't! There are a lot of options to choose from, but don't worry, its not as complicated as it looks. Every Dinghy is great in its own way though, and you really cannot go wrong with any of them!
Was there a landyachtz dinghy model I didn't cover in the video? Drop a comment if you have a question on a certain model and I'd be happy to reply with my thoughts. Y'all have a great day!

I have the blunt and also like to ride a bit tighter than most, my friends always notice it when trying it out. Based on my experience, no problem with turning with just the trucks. I wear 10 1/2 (US) which is 42 in Brazil and Europe (I think) and they feel great under my feet, I like to feel a bit of the borders of the board when doing intense carving, the slight concave of the board itself helps too. Can get quite fast out of the box, but also after using it for some time and “letting it settle” it’s going even faster. I want to try the tugboat but not sure I would trade the portability of the blunt

I’m 37 and learned to skate on the Dinghy Fender with 72mm Plow Kings. Love it as I worry very little about pebbles and small bumps on the ground. I try to avoid steep downhills as these cruisers will feel a bit unstable. Looking to get a longboard to add to my collection.

Hi... Does anyone know what the proper replacement bushing for the dinghy is? the bottom one is a cylinder, the upper one is a cone and the standard type bones ones and similar have a different diameter. Someone mentioned using thunder successfully but I have not had a chance or luck finding ones that would come as cylinder plus cone in that 94A region. Need to change mine. I am somewhat of a beginner still and the stock ones are supper soft to a point where tightening the trucks requires me to adjust the screw to a point where it compresses the original bushing a bit too much. I weight 160 lbs moderate height but would definitely prefer more stability since I am still learning (after a year :_) )

@OgdenSikel
@OgdenSikel 3 жыл бұрын
The turbo king would probably be your best option because the larger wheels make it really easy to cruise over almost any terrain. That being said, if it is out of your price range, really any model will work to a certain extent. If not the turbo king, look for the fiberglass models or the dinghy blunt!

loaded omakase is def a good one, and the landyachtz tugboat could be something to look into also. Here are some strange ones you could check out haha (they're made of metal but kinda pricey!) www.121cboards.com/shop/aileron/ beercanboards.com/collections/completes

@@OgdenSikel thank you for the response! :) Now i'm kinda in doubt between the tugboat and the omakase. The other boards look good too but they're not available in my country :( I have pretty rough streets around here, would it make more sense to make my choice based on the width of the wheels, since they would absorb more shocks? Then i would pick the omakase, even though its quite a bit heavier
@OgdenSikel
@OgdenSikel 3 жыл бұрын
I think wider wheels definitely can help make rough roads smoother so that is definitely something to consider. It rlly depends on how bad the roads are tho and if you think wider wheels would be better. I think either of those boards would work well for you!

Great review! I've seen no other reviews on YT describing the variants. I'm 50 and about to try skating for the first time (I regularly run + bike: looking to try something new). I'm leaning towards cruising over learning tricks on a street board. I'm 5'6" with a 9.5 shoe. From my research, the Dinghy is too unstable for a beginner - the Tugboat appears to be better, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. Do you think a Dinghy Blunt will suffice for a beginner (if I tighten it up?) Or will it be too hard/unstable to learn on? LY markets the Blunt as a hybrid between a Dinghy and a Tugboat.
@OgdenSikel
@OgdenSikel 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, so first thing, is you can learn how to skate on any board! That being said, some are easier than others...I think the dinghy blunt would work really well for you IF you’re in the market for a small cruiser board. Because the trucks are wider than the turbo king it should be a little more stable. I have shoe size 9 and my turbo king is small, but fine for a cruiser. Tugboat is probably the best fit for you, but the blunt should perform great also!

how is the dinghy coffin cocktail different from the regular dinghy?

The main difference is that the coffin has a slightly larger, and flatter nose along with the tail. This makes it more of a dinghy/ATV hybrid board, meaning that it is essentially a dinghy that will perform ever-so-slightly better at tricks than the regular dinghy

Which one do you recommend for a very short person (4'11", 6,5 shoe size and 116,84 lb) with zero skate experience? I can’t decide between a standard dhingy, pocket rocket black or a carver surfskate cx. Important is a smooth, carving, easy, comfort cruising with as little as possible risk for injuries (bigger and softer wheels..), high quality, beginner friendly. And of course short people friendly 😅 And I don’t want to learn tricks or something special. I just want to learn how to skate and want to enjoy the feeling while cruising relaxed (nearly all terrain). It would be awesome if you could recommend something realistic for me and my views, the price is not important at all :)

@OgdenSikel 3 жыл бұрын
You may just need more lubricant, and like mentioned above me, I also like using bones speed cream for lubing the bearings. edit: in case you weren't aware, you cant clean bearings with water. If you did, that may be why. if not then ignore this.

thanks! turbo king is 72mm but I think you're right on the others. I don't think my trucks are too tight, because they work well for the turbo king wheels, but yeah for smaller wheels they are probably too tight
