Langes Messer Sparring: Elements of Lecküchner and Meyer

In this sparring video, we strive to apply the techniques for Langes Messer from Johannes Lecküchner - especially Entrüsthaw and Fehler, etc., which are usually difficult to achieve fully in the real sparring. At the same time, the Reitzer/Nehmer/Treffer principles from Joachim Meyer could be used with benefits. It might be difficult to dissect these sources from one another in the real time fencing, but it seems they could be performed simultaneously. Enjoy!

well yeah a "demonstration" is a demonstration. only a fool thinks demonstrating techniques will take him far. demonstrations are showing theroetical application but any fighters understands that combat is real time its chaotic

Your Messers make really nice sounds when they clash!

I would say that steel swords etc. ring nicely when they are new. We hadn't used these Messers much before, so maybe that's why they have such a nice sound. Previously, I used heavier sabres for the Messer techniques.
