Not really, you would be suprised. Altough most families aren't supportive of you doing dumb shit, stuff they don't understand and/or you didn't exaplain well. Just make sure to explain well what you are going to do, why you want to do it and how you are going to achieve it. And they might even support you when you want to do things you will most likely never achieve (becoming a succesfull youtuber, a proffessional athelete, a actor who can pay their bills etc.)

That's why often we hear stories of youtubers for example who tell how they first started, and then when they had like a paycheck or 2 where they made decent money, they then talk to their parents or partner about following this carreer. So completely agree making a decent living or having other forms of "evidence" that it is a worthy investment, makes it a lot easier to convice them.

@@BrotherHood-xh9sg Until then though, it can be an upward battle for some parents who have high expectations of their kids; suppose some want them to be a doctor or engineer instead of being a content creator. It can get real awkward in that case in the beginning, and might remain that way.

I imagine it would be hard to convince some parents if you are a small streamer, but if you're LA+ Darkunessu, or any of her colleagues you've pretty much made it, some people don't know but these girls are making banks, probably more than some doctor or lawyer parents would yearn for.

I love the character designs of the brother and dad. They have Laplus's horns and hair, but also normal clothes. Emphasizes that even though the whole family is innately weird, Laplus is _intentionally_ weird on top of that.

This video reminds me of the fact that as talented as Holomems are (and they have to be freaking talented in order to pass the very strict talent filtering process Hololive has with the thousands of applicants they get every time a new Gen is announced) some of them, if not most of them, are very shy irl and as talented as they are they would never be able to perform in the same way they do if they weren't Vtubers and had to actually do it as themselves. Take Moona, for example, insanely high grade singing voice, a stage precense that would make any western diva envious, and yet every person that describes Moona's IRL self do so with terms like "she's so shy" or "she would barely talk". Moona can perform the way she does because she has the guise of her 2D and 3D models to do it. And Aqua would most likely become fully paralized if she ever had to walk onto a stage and sing IRL. Just like Slash (of Guns and Roses) needed his big hat and hair to cover his face to get over his crippling stage fright, so do most Holomems need to be Vtubers to perform. That's very likely why Hololive can get singing talent that rivals the biggest recording labels, because by giving them the chance of being vtubers, they are able to tap into a pool of talent of shy, sometimes introverted, people that would never even think of auditioning for some big talent agency if they knew they had to perform in front of a crowd and cameras all the time. Again, this does not apply to ALL Holomems (I'm pretty sure Suisei would thrive in any form of performance she did, to name an example), but it does apply to a big chunk of them.

You're absolutely right, and it's kinda fascinating to think about. I mean, look at, say, how *the majority* of the EN members have said or shown that they tend to be introverted and shy irl, and what they've all managed to accomplish despite that. Their avatars give them a level of insulation to... I don't want to use the term "hide behind," exactly, but it's kind of accurate. In a way, it's like... the positive counterpart to the idea that the anonymity of the internet allows people to be absolute jerks to other people and say things they'd never be "brave" enough to say to someone's face because there's no consequences.
