Firstly, I want to thankyou for the Video. It's a very clear explanation, very helpfull, especially for the beginner like me. Secondly, I have a question about the laptop repair that I'm currently working on it. The first one, was a Toshiba E305 and it was done succesfully. This time I have a HP 14-B009AU. This is my second job on charging circuit, and I realy need help. The issue is the laptop can't turned on when powered by battery only. I checked the battery, and yes, one of the cell was drop to 0 volt. The battery model was VK04. So I ordered a new battery. So the battery now is new, and I just replaced it. But why the laptop it's still not coming on? I thought the battery voltage was too low, so I decided to charge it up. When the charger was plugged in, charging light was on, and the laptop can turned on, on Windows the charging icon indicate the the charging process was working fine. So I think there's no problem with the charging circuit. In the first few minutes. the charging current read about 1.5A. I think this is normal because the battery is low, and after a few minutes, it's should be lower than that. I turned off the laptop and let it charged for a few minutes. But what happened next was beyond my expectations. After about 10 minutes suddenly the charging current drop to 0. Oh no...I was worried there's something wrong. I checked the battery, and I found that one of the battery cell become hotter than the others (it's quite hot so you can't touched it more than 5 seconds). So I concluded the temperature sensor was protecting the battery. But why the temperature become so high? Of course because there is a overcurrent charging, right?. But why? After the battery is cold, I checked it again, and it's still doesn't work. There's no voltage comes out from it's terminals. I suspect the battery is damaged. So I was wondering there's something wrong with the charging circuit on the mainboard. I attach the battery into the laptop, and with the charger plugged in, I measured the charging voltage on the battery terminal, it was about 15 volts. I think it's not normal, and maybe this is why overcurrent occurs. But how does it possible? - Why does the charging system can't protect this situation? - Can some one help me, what part that possibly fail? Thanks.

Check all the basic requirements of the charging section. VCC, DCIN, ACDET ACOK then u check whether the switching and the blocking MOSFETs are working properly or not. I hope u would be able to solve the problem with this in mind.
@wawandharmawan2441

OK, I have checked all the voltages around charging section and all seem to be normal. So my suspicion is on the battery pack itself, it's non-original one. After disassembly the battery pack I found 1 cell was bad (what a shame because it's a new one). The controller only contains 1 chip, 2 main mosfets, and some capasitors and resistors, and 1 transistor (I'm not sure). There is no EEPROM, and no NTC attached to the cell body like the original battery pack. I doubt how the temperature sensor works?. It's contains 4 cells connected in series, so the total voltage should be around 14-15V. It's answered my question earlier, why the charging voltage was 15V. After replacing the bad cell with a good one, I checked again, and everything's working fine.
