The Miss India competition of 2000 was quite a tight competition with Lara Dutta being crowned the winner, Priyanka Chopra as the first runner-up and Dia Mirza as the second runner-up. All three went on to win their respective international beauty pageants that year. Lara Dutta won the Miss Universe title, Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title and Diya Mirza was crowned the Miss Asia Pacific for the year.
