Damn! This vid doesn't include the awkward presentation of her award. The presenter was ignorant as to who Lara is and the category she won AND mispronounced her name. In this performance Lara seemed to think 'my fans know who I am. For those who don't: i'll show you why I earned this award.' This performance seems almost combative. The way she looks into the camera at the end and gesticulates when she sings 'tu vois, je t'aime...comme ça'. Kinda like saying: 'See here, I don't need 'mainstream' recognition. I appreciate the award, my fans and those newly introduced to my work. The rest...you can keep.'

If the European market of services had been completed at this stage, we would have had the benefit of hearing this incredible Belgian woman. 30 years later, we can wish that that is the case today: That a singer in Belgium can sign in 27 national our airwaves before having to conquer the 50 states of the US.

Unfortunately Celine monopolized the market thanks to her husband. I often see comments like yours all over and I often think if Dion hasn't existed that La Fabian would perhaps be more popular in the states. Obviously I am a die hard Lara fan lol.

@@dkalbryte6774 I must say I have no definitive proof just an impression I got when I've gotten in arguments with some Celine Dion fans! Some of Celine's fans are really nasty and hateful towards Lara. It's hearsay but like you said, it wouldn't surprise me since Lara would've been in direct competition with his wife. I'm a Celine fan but I love Lara more....just wanted to make that clear. There's room in the world for both of them

I'm actually a fan of hers. It just bothers me when people compare the two. There are some similarities between the two but there are more differences than similarities in my opinion. This video is about Lara...why bring Celine into it? Lara and Celine are top shelf artist's, but in my opinion, I like Lara better. I also LOVE Lara, they have very similar styles and even voices but they're both unique. There's no need to compare them all the time.

Je crois que Lara à toujours ete; elle-même. Peut-être que c'est toi qui interprete mal ce qu'elle est. Elle savais déjà qu'un jour elle serait là parmis eux grâce à son album en anglais, qu'elle savais qu'elle allais faire un jour. Ce n'est pas pour rien qu'elle leur dit à bientôt à la fin de sa chanson.
