My grocery just recently started consistently having clearance produce. Yesterday it was snowing and grocery store was empty. I got 2 boxes of pretty decent strawberries for $0.99 each, a box of blackberries and blueberries for $0.99, and 6 plantains for 0.99. I was so happy.

Salt, pepper, butter. Cook in the oven so it's nice and grilled. Works for everything. Broccoli, culiflower peas, squash, carrots, potatoes etc.

I actually went and did some clearance shopping yesterday. I wasn't early enough for a lot of things but found a lot of bread for 75¢ and hamburger buns for 25¢! Then I got some other bread $1 off through ibotta. I won't need bread or buns for a month or more and it was so much cheaper than normal! Thank you for showing how to do this so we can learn how to lower our grocery bill!

FYI - hamburger buns make great garlic bread. Simply separate the top & bottom, either spread or melt the butter & butter them. Sprinkle with garlic powder & any other spices or a little bit of Parmesan. Bake at 350 for 5 min or so. Watch closely.

Christine, here’s a very tasty, quick veggie salad. You need, 1 head of cauliflower, 1 head of broccoli,1 pound of carrots & One 8 oz bottle of Italian Dressing. I use the low fat, but regular also works. Clean the veggies & cut into bite size pieces. Put in a bowl that has an airtight lid. Pour the whole bottle of dressing over the cut up veggies (you may need more, if your heads of cauliflower & broccoli are on the large size) you want to cover everything well. Put the lid & refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Periodically, shake the bowl & turn it upside down. This is so delicious & is great for a picnic, potluck or anytime.

Every time I see grape or cherry tomatoes I think of the Giada pasta recipe I make. It's the tomatoes cut in half and cooked in oil with garlic, when they've cooked down a bit toss in some basil, add cooked bowtie pasta, mix, and then add diced fresh mozzarella and let melt. It's delicious. I've made it for years.

I've got cherry tomatoes in the fridge with mozzarella cheese, garlic is still on the counter and I don't have basil! Hmmm. Maybe dried basil instead.

In the clearance produce section of the IGA I went to the other day I saw Guacamole marked down. I always think it looks yummy when Christine buys it but realized I had Avocados at home and needed to be responsible. Proud of myself

Thanks for the idea. Took some tomatoes that were about to go bad and didn't really want to eat fresh...cut up, added season, bagged in freezer bag, now I have some tomatoes to use in place of canned tomatoes.

I am in southern MN and after many searches I finally found one discount market about 45 mins from me and yes everything is that far, we are in the boons. I am going to be checking it out when we get out of the subzero weather lol.

Christine isn’t fancy . She usually just tosses stuff in the freezer. It’s all packaged and does fine . If you look at her freezer clean out videos the only things in containers are like tomatoes and stuff from her garden

Since finding Christine I have looked at the way I shopped and then changed the way I shopped and since then I am saving between $100 to $200 a week in groceries (in Australia). Thanks to you I no longer use my credit card and pay more off it and still have money in my bank to get me to my next pay and am starting to see savings 🥰. Are you my Guru yes you are 😘.

Been loving clearance stickers my whole life, last week I got 450g of ground beef for free thanks to clearance stickers, I cooked it immediately and then freezer meal prep... done and done I love your videos by the way... It's less lonely knowing I'm not the only house wife/mom on a budget/in control of the budget trying to stretch every cent as far as I can.

I would love some videos that focus specifically on using the same staple in a variety of ways. Like, if I have a giant container of oats and need to use them, I could make sweet/savory oatmeal or cookies, but it would be cool to see some other meals (oat bread maybe?).

My husband has some food sensitivities, We get Tortilla Land tortillas since they don’t have those ingredients. They have a slightly different texture but we really like them. Great for our black bean & sweet potato burritos 😍

I’m to invested in this hail considering I work at a food pantry, and they that expired, we can’t give out, or is left over and can’t be stored until the next time we are open is left for staff/volunteer. I also get free lunch at work

I didn’t even think about freezing the package of individually wrapped guacamole before I started watching your channel. Now, I have a whole whack of them (clearance of course!) and recycle the cardboard and use the cups for little bits, bobs and crafts.

I love clearance shopping! It's made my budget go further, me a more creative cook and has also made my kids less fussy eaters. Bonus is that my teenager is picking up on the tricks and perks of managing a budget and meal planning which he'll be able to carry along with him later on, Something I had to figure out entirely myself.

It may or may not be of any interest to you but Walmart has two types of frozen pre-cooked chicken in a bag. Fajita and a cubed chicken. They are both good. Would be easy to thaw that out overnight and toss it in Dave's salad. Also, I buy chicken breasts in bulk and bake them with seasonings all at once. Rest them and package them in single servings. Just take it out the night before when I want a quick meal. Works for kielbasa and pork chops too. I love pork chops seasoned with Cajun Seasoning in the air fryer, rested and sliced on a salad. The sirloin pork chops are the best for that.

Last week at my local Fry's, the 1 lb packages of Simple Truth ground beef was on "manager's special" at $1.99! I also had a coupon for $1/$10 of meat purchase. As I grabbed my 6 packages of clearance meat, I whispered to myself "Christine would be so proud of me right now" 😆

I found Hawaiian rolls on clearance a few days ago, and made Cuban sliders with some leftover pork roast, deli ham, a quarter slice of Swiss cheese and one pickle slice per roll. It fed all four of us easily!

The little peppers are Serrano I love misfit boxes but am doing the same thing- working through my old freezer before ordering another. I just got my replacement standing freezer- ordered at thanksgiving- sorting through everything... I’m a big clearance from Kroger. Can’t wait to take stock and enjoy the future bargains

So agree about those tortillas! They're awesome :) My local Wal-Mart has them for like $2.50. It's just so much easier than hauling everything out to make tortillas. Key points with them though - yes, use a bit of oil on your pan or they won't cook as evenly. Take them off when they just start to get the brown bubbles. If you let them go too long they will get hard. They're so totally yummy!

Did you know that if your milk is about to expire. Shake a little salt in the carton shake it up and you can get a extra 2or 3 days or more.

Yes we live in California and haven't been in any store for over two months until we get the vaccine.... I think we do save lots of money staying out of the stores if all kinds especially Costco....we have lots of stock piles in our cabinets and freezers....

Those hawaiian rolls are good for mini burgers with a side of homemade fries. Just cook up some ground beef crumbled up warm the Hawaiian rolls all together in the oven. Wrap in foil so they don’t get hard. Pull them out the oven, slice hawaiian rolls in half to make a top and bottom bun add the crumbled ground beef and shredded cheese refoil and put back in the oven to melt the cheese. They should pull apart and be mini burgers! Quick, easy and tasty.

Those raw tortillas are amazing for making your own elephant ears too! Just throw a little cinnamon and sugar on them after frying and they are a great treat! 💚
