Multiple units responding to an All Hands HazMat box assignment at a small oil refinery in Port Richmond. Engine 28 had multiple oil drums heavily involved in fire upon arrival. Battalion 10 quickly placed All Hands in service and the incident was placed under control in less than an hour.

Why the hell does the Salvation Army have vehicles with lights and sirens? It’s not going to be a life or death situation if they just respond normally and obey traffic laws to get there. 😂😂😂

Great catches. Quick questions. What’s the CAT unit do? I understand it’s kinda like public relations. Also why is did the SA respond to this? I thought they were strictly for displaced people after fires

Thanks! So, the CATs are a liaison with the Red Cross as well as Fire Prevention and PIO. They go on all working residential fires and then are automatically on the All Hands assignment regardless of what is burning. As for the Salvation Army, they tend to respond to any major incident in Philly anymore. Anything All Hands or greater or anything thats unusual or large-scale. They also provide rehab for PFD/PPD members, same as the Second Alarmers.
